I rendered a Picture I named Bathed in Blue in Poser 5 using a simple background, Michael 2 with standard textures and Vicki 3 using her Hi-Res textures - all from Daz. Lights were customised by me to fit the mood I wanted. I chose All white and even checked the materials for the body and face and nipples. However, the result showed a circle around the nipple. Is this supposed to happen? Is it the lights? Or a Poser 5 / V3 / Hi-Res problem? I am using Win XP on a PIV 1.6GHz computer with 512MBRAM.

The all white - is under the folder !MAT V3 and also - the face seemed to have a mind of its own.

This is what it looks like in setup

I don't know about that nipple. The aureole definately looks weird. However, your light set up is very compelling in its use of shadows.

There is also something wrong with her left elbow, I have her in that same pose in P5 using the same maps, her nipple is fine and her elbow doesn't look like that. The right shoulder also doesn't look like that...looks more like Vickie 2 in that pose. Granted I'm using default lighting, but that shouldn't make a difference in the shape of the body to that extent. You might want to check to make sure poser 5 is looking in the right directory..just a thought. Marque

That Explains it! I used V3 maps on a V2! That is exactly the same effect I got. (Quickly going back to try and see if I can rectify it). Thanks Thanks Thanks!

I have the nipple problem although I am not sure what caused it ....sometimes it shows sometimes not ...seems to depend on how I morph the nipple area...here is a pic with v3 using v2 maps

glennjan ( ) posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 9:33 AM

Um I should have said that I made the new obj using the uv maps to allow vicky to take the v2 maps ...surprise it doesnt work that great I guess lol...unless maybe I did it wrong...naw I think the uv thing has something to do with it

I know what this problem is. I caught it looking at the V3 to V2 UVMaps. The maps are wrong. The outer edge of one of the nipples is in the wrong place. One of the eyewhites too. I've just about corrected my UVs. I can share the .uvs if you want.

glennjan ( ) posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 3:40 PM

Well I for one would like the correct maps ..I havent seen anything else messed up by them

Okay, you twisted my arm... I worked up a .uvs file that fixes the coordinates of the right nipple and one of the eyewhites in the UVs provided by DAZ for Victoria 3 to take Victoria 2 texture maps. This is not for the Victoria 3 to Victoria 2 that uses the V2 body shape - it's for the uvs that are a freebie DL at DAZ. Just wanted to make that clear, ya know how some people are. ;)

NetherWorks, check this image. see the "Vertices" outlined in Red. well, they belong to "SkinBody". And they are just "Floating" out there...

I would fix it myself, but lack the know how. I tried switching to "View Model" in UVMApper Pro. But, it won't show at all after
i apply the new UVS file?? So, i can't see where those "Loose" vertices go!

Anyhow, hope you have better luck with it!

Marco

Netherworks ( ) posted Sat, 04 January 2003 at 9:13 PM

Hmm... It might be a bit tricky to figure out where they go, since it can be anywhere on the skinbody. Is it causing a noticable difference?

OpticalSingenoid ( ) posted Sat, 04 January 2003 at 10:25 PM

I'll have to make a "Generic Texture" to better see where these "Vertices" are... Maybe, i could better see in MAX... I'll get back to you on that! And maybe a Fix too! I Love Challenges! ;-) Marco

Hey! Took me a cup of coffe & a few cigarettes to find an easy way to locate them... I simply selected them & Applied a new material to them in UVMApper! Doh! Well, here's a small visual showing the "Offending Polys" Those little lines or dots you see are them! Now, they are right at the edge of the nails! So, it's not a big thing... But, if i don't fix it, it's going to nag at me. Too bad UVMApper doesn't have an option that can figure out automatically what type of mapping was used! I'll have to manually try to place them. Unless someone has a better idea? Well, it will have to be later this week, cause i'm out! Later! Marco

Netherworks ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 5:31 AM

Ah, I see. Probably won't show up that much though, unless you're doing hand closeups. :)
