Subject: Bug in Carrara 2.1 ?

Is this a bug in Carrara 2.1 or am I doing something wrong? I selected the object on the right and dublicated with symmerty. The render looks ok but obviously the assembly room object does not.BTW, that is what the inside of the object looks like. Peabody

Thanks for the clarification on the image, thought you were trying to animate a Sir Mix-a-lot song. I've had the same problem with the "duplicate with symmetry" command but have chose to ignore it because the renders work okay. It does make it difficult to model in the assembly room at times. memaci

Thanks for the info. As long as it's a 'feature' ;) I can ignore it...just didn't know if I was messing it up. Peabody

Nonono, it's not a feature, it's a bug ! When you duplicate an object with symmetry, its normals get inverted . FYI, a normal is a vector that indicates a facet's direction, and they're used in real-time rendering to avoid the computer to calculate the inside of objects . You can fix this problem by enabling 'Show backface' in the properties of the object . litst
