Hi, I'm not able to figure out how to get hair trans maps to work in other 3d apps - usch as Cinema 4d or Vue. Maybe I'm not even getting them out of Poser (V4 - NO pro pack) correctly. Can anyone help with this? many thanks, tantrikk

I don't know about cinema 4d or vue, but I've got one to work in Bryce, and the technique qould be the same: In bryce, you can inport textures to use as a transparency settings. Although the hair isn't (wasn't) exported with this, all I had to do was apply the transparency settings within bryce in the hair mesh, and it worked fine ...

Hi, thanks...I'm wondering - do you mean "apply 'alpha' settings"? It seems that transparency settings, in Cinema at least, would just make then more or less transparent. What I get from an export is 'solid' geometries , then I go to the poser tex files for the hair to apply the textures and the result is textured solid geometries..... I tried to apply the same hair texture as an alpha but nothing happened. I'll work on it some more because if you did it in Bryce, then possibly it can be done in C4D. Many thanks - more suggestions are very welcome! tantrikk

To use transmaps in Cin4D you have to reverse the maps. E.G. what is black in the map should be white and visa versa. If you have photoshop this is not hard to do. Good luck.

Hey farang, thank you.....(u n BKK?) Cinema hs an option on the materials dialog box to do judt that - reverse the map. I'll try it or else use PSP. sincere thanks. IM me if you exist doing 3D/BKK or similar. Would love to hear from someone like that. tantrikk

OK, thanks, dont know what a PPZ file is but I guess i'll find out. (nice render by the way!)

PPZ should be the default Poser file that you save from Poser. Vue 4 imports poser files natively so you should be able to just drop it in by going to Import object option in Vue. best wishes Jody
