Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
The "sun" is real sun-like, very visceral feeling. To be critical now, the yellow gun beams look too solid for me... how bout a somewhat transparent tube (a stretched torus?) and apply the glow to that? Something more glassy. I particularly like the light of the "running lights" on the "wing" surfaces etc and the plastic gleam of the gun housings. But you have Poser... where is the figure head? That is what those ladies at the prows of ships is called right?. Thanks for showing :)
Actually, I can turn the transparency settings up on the yellow beams. This rendering was done in Poser 4, so I have control over that at least. :) It's not quite a tube, but a morph target that fires the weapon. Thanks, bonestructure! I'd like to post this baby when I finally finish it after 5+ weeks of work on it, but I think it'll be too big, even ZIPPED. :( I'll see what I can do anyway. The model is VERY stable. Even with it, two figures AND their clothes, Poser didn't have any problems with it. It DID slow Poser down a bit, I only have 64 megs after all, but Poser never crashed even once. :) Greywolf
I'm using trueSpace 3, and it can also use the filters, though when I bought them, Lensflare came with a special trueSpace version. I don't render in tS though. This is a Poser render, surprising as it may seem. I just wish I could do textures. The ship looks great without them, imagine how cool it would look WITH them. Guess I'll have to learn. :) Greywolf

I got the beam morphs for the second set of guns done, and the aft sails as well. I was playing with the Lensflare and Glow filters I bought for PSP. The Lensflare filter is pretty easy, but the Glow filter will take a bit of time to get the hang of. :) Time to do the front mast and sail and finish this lengthy project. ^_- Greywolf
