Do you make Dynamic Clothing for P5, and if so what is the difference? Thanks

i did a couple but i haven't really got into it (i can do more though) as they have to be more simple than a conforming one.....the problem is if you create say a dress with a lot of folds in it then you use it dynamically the folds will drop out, now i think its possible that you could set something up in poser 5 so it would create that effect, fix a few vertices so they can't move and the rest has to fold over them might work but it'd be complex i think...also stuff with buttons is tricky, again it can be done but you'd have to set up constraints on every button, buckle, belt and on top of that every vertice must be welded...reading that it sounds like i'm on a downer on the cloth room but i don't mean to be most other cloth software has the same problems, and P5 cloth room is still a lot better than a lot of the high end stuff.....Steve

With so many P5 problems, and so many disappointed buyers, I'd hate to see Steve spend his time on P5 dynamic anything. He's become expert in this field, and when you're that good why buck the trend... I don't see P5 stuff jumping off the shelves yet - but I could be wrong.

I am not disappointed with P5, and the more quality stuff we have for P5 the beter. I like the dynamic cloth and I do not use it with anitmations. It looks great. Why not set the tread rather than buck it. Steve is a trend setter,he is the only one (maybe a few others) doing clothes for the MM kids, and anyone not sure about getting membership in Poser World... Get It !!! Just my opion but it is the best deal you can get for the money. Niles

I'll second that Niles.....both comments :) Steve is constantly cranking out great stuff.....things you can't get anywhere else and usually two or three times a week, compared to one item, once a week at another membership site. That's what's so valuable about the membership. More P5 stuff, including dynamic clothing, would be great.

Steve makes wonderful models and some of them can already be converted for use in the cloth room. The Linen Suit is fantastic in the cloth room, the trousers drape so beautifully. I'd *love* more dynamic clothing - especially a big baggy cardigan, though I am thinking about texturing the top of the Linen Suit to look like a cardigan :) Thanks for all your hard work Steve.

Wow, that suit looks great in P5 - it falls just like linen would!

steveshanks ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 5:16 AM

Well i have to say that now i will be doing some more dynamic stuff because Rjghise THAT is exactly how i wanted the linen suit to look when i made it, i wish i'd kept the original magazine image to show you because you have it off to a tee, did the seams give you any trouble..i think i gotta go try this ;o)....having said that though i don't mean i'll be switching over to p5 dynamic clothes as the complex stuff just doesn't suit it, the majority of anything i make will be P4 style but Rjghise's image shows the potential for Dynamic versions at least along side the conforming....i'm off to play with the linen set ;o).....Steve

Thanks, I'm glad you like what I did with it and I'm very pleased you will be doing more dynamic stuff :)

No problem with the seams, but the sleeve shape does cause a problem if the arm isn't bent. In the image above they just wouldn't hang properly at all, whatever dynamics settings I used they just looked too stiff, hence the strong breeze!

That ones even nicer :o)...i just love that whole scene completely :o)......Steve
