Make sure your object is in the Poser geometries folder that you want, also make sure your phi builder application is in the Poser.exe folder. Then open the phi builder application, and click object, your geometries folder will open and find your object. You should be good to go from there. Sharen Check the names for your groups, they may be to long.

Ok If I need To change the names Is there away to Do this The Ezy way say after i textured the hole model all ready? =) Thanks alot for the help guys

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 4:36 PM

You groups really don't have anything to do with your texturing, you go by your materials for that. Maybe I don't understand your question about changing the names? Sharen

grid ( ) posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 5:38 PM

Well I dont want to have to re-inport the model into Rhino and Have the Uv All messed up after I have changed it to Texture it.. how about if i send you the obj file is there a way to do this? is 11 mb but if there is nothing less for me to do then i guess I will Start over and see what happes

But for the parts in red there is no option for me to slide it could use some more help here. I hope your not getting frustrated with me here. Im going back to keep trying this and see if i can get this to work

SAMS3D ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 10:58 AM

You will have to go to the cr2 and edit it, the trans dials are hidden, just go there and place a 0 in front of the dial you need to see. Sharen

maclean ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 1:05 PM

Grid, Here are a few things you can do to improve movements in a model. First, open the cr2 file in notepad and look in the body part you're modifying under 'channels'. For the parts you want to slide, change the value for all 3 trans dials (X, Y and Z) from 'hidden 1' to 'hidden 0'. Resave the file as a cr2. When you open it in poser, you will see the 3 trans dials. What you can do now is this. Say you only want the chamber to move up to a certain point and then stop. Find out which trans dial moves it, figure out the value you want, then double-click on the parameter dial, and in the box that opens, set minimum and maximum values. If it moves 0.100, then 0 (zero) would be the minimum and 0.100 would be the max. If it was -0.100, then that would be the minimum and 0 the max. (Minimum is always less than maximum). Once you figure it out, resave the gun to the library, open the cr2 in notepad again, and for that trans channel, set 'force limits 0' to force limits 4'. Save it and open the gun in poser. The chamber will now stop automatically at the value you've chosen. If you decide to change the value, you can do it in the dialog box and the 'forced limits' will still work. This allows you to move the chamber without it shooting off and disappearing inside the gun. For any dials you don't want to accidentally rotate, do the same thing. Set force limits to zero for those dials in the cr2, then in the dialog box, set BOTH minimum and maximum limits to 0 (zero). Now they won't rotate at all, unless you decide to change the limits later. mac

maclean ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 1:14 PM

PS You may want to resave the cr2 under a new name if you're not used to poser hacking. Just in case. I don't know how much you know about it, so if anything's not clear, just yell. Also, if you're interested, the reason the trans dials are hidden is because that body part is a child, ie. parented to another body part. Poser always hides the trans dials for parented parts. If you had made the PHI file as it is in post #8 (with all body parts numbered '1'), poser would have shown the trans dials for all body parts. But then you would have had to do the parenting in the cr2. I always leave trans dials unhidden, and if I have a model with a large number of body parts, I don't parent anything. That saves me unhiding everything. Then I do the parenting in the cr2, but it can be a pain if you're not used to it. mac PPS Sharen. Sorry to hijack the thread. You were doing fine.

maclean ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 1:18 PM

PPPS If you want that trigger to rotate, you may have to use the Joint Editor to move it's point of origin up to the top of the trigger so it rotates around that point, and not around the center. I'm leaving now.... honest! mac

Woow thanx Yea Im Done with it But Im Now Trying to Ujust The speed Of The dial Every Time I try to Change the Sensitivity nothing happens even after editing the Cr2 any clues on this?

maclean ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 4:20 PM

If you alter the sensitivity (tracking value) in the cr2, it should work in poser. The only tracking that NEVER works, no matter what you do, is for a morph target. mac

grid ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 5:05 PM

hmm wounder why its not Working on mine If i swith the Tranz z to 0.00010 to this 1.0 nothing happens or evern if i put 0.00040 no speed increase

grid ( ) posted Sat, 14 June 2003 at 5:12 PM

translateX xtran { name Chamber initValue 0 hidden 0 forceLimits 1 min -3.872 max 0 trackingScale 0.004 keys as you can see here it is nothing happens to it though what am i doing wrong?
