Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
ROFL! nice one. ;) Welding has got to be the most tedious thing to do in max, aside from refining. A long time ago I add the `~ key as fuse. When your in max, youll have to 'attach' all the seperate objects together in their place. Things like doors and tires that you want in motion, I suggest you leave off the truck for now. Once you have all your objects 'attached' (by left clicking on the body of the truck and choosing attach then selecting everything to be attached to the body) You then weld. Colapse your stack, left click, sub-object, vertices and start tracking down the verts from one object that overlaps the verts of the other. drag over the two and hit fuse. Do this for all your overlapping vertices, more to the point, the verts from one object that meet the verts from another object ( i call them different objects but they are not at this point because you attached them ealier) Once all your doubled up verts are fused, colapse again (convert to editable mesh) then export. In poser, after you have imported it. Bring in your doors and wheels and scale them to fit. Go to setup and bone em to you truck so you can open and close and spin the wheels. This is all off the top of my head, Feel free to post if you are having trouble, I would be very interested in seeing the results as im sure other would be too. Are there any posable vehicles for poser? hmm...
Many thanks to you 3ncrytabl3_lick. Sounds like great advice, but may as well be Japanese. I have studied the forums here and read many tuts. Just now am I starting to get my hands dirty. I think I'm going to be okay with Poser but modeling seems like a tougher nut to crack. Welding identical vertices didn't work, maybe I'm trying to do something advanced when I'm only a beginner...but eventually I'll figure it out, eventually I'll be great! (...did I say that out loud?) While I have seen some vehicles for poser and have a couple, none of them resemble a ford pick-up. Just had an idea for it but looks like it will be on hold for awhile.:) The one pictured above is not my creation, a freebie off the web. Someday I will make great models for you guys, wish me luck! Thanks for your help. Tha Birdman
Oh yes I found a whole lot of car models like that too. I loaded them into poser and most were in pieces like that, but I found some from the same set were intact, so check each one before you go throwing them all away. Love Esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
