texturing is just one aspect. . . . here is the artists list that the prof presented. . . . art director, lead artist, concept/storyboard, 2d artists, 3d artists, character animator, environmental modeler, skins artist, texture artist, cinematics artist, package design, marketing. . . . . . salary - $30000-80000. . .plenty to chose from !! . . . . personally, I would be interested in the environmental modeling aspect. . . . Bryce's influence no doubt!!
Nuski, with the engine improvement on video games these days, The possibilities are endless. For myself, when Half-Life 2 gets released (If i decide to buy it) i'll be able to model things with 2 or 3 times the polycounts i can now with Half-Life. My models right now have to stay under 1000, and those are the detailed ones (the models you see in your hands, the ones you see on the ground have to be around 300)
if you are interested in game design courses, check into the closest art institute. Im attending the one in Portland and last term they just started a game desing major which I may switch too...so if anyone is interested, check it out ok, art institute recruitment speech is over :-) ...nuski, looks very kool...but are you planning on using that as a model or just building a character that youll later model in max or maya or whatever? Because, Bryce is unfortunately not a great program for game modelling (because of poly count and inability to export most things.) Errr, ok, Im prob way of topic now....but I like the model...looks very nice
innovator. . . . you're right on topic!!. . . just building a character for the moment. . . . next semester. . . . maya. . . . .should be educational and a bit different than Bryce! I'm finding that Bryce is great as a concept art design tool. The ability to quickly model and change sample objects and environments in Bryce is far superior to the mighty pen, pencil or brush. First Bryce. . . . . than Maya . . . .will be my battlecry!
