Hi there, As many have noticed SnowSultan has been kind enough to do a new series of Seam Guide Templates for V3 and other items. All the guides are up and link fiexed. The guides are free and available to anyone directly from the product pages like the other templates were. Thanks to him for his fine work, Anton Sea Dragon http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1267 Fantasy wrap http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1395 and fixed on the dress http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1295

Thank you, I hope these new guides can be useful and perhaps bring about some excellent new textures for these equally fine models. I will be adding the links above to my homepage a little later. Take care. SnowS 1001 Words

Thank you so much, I just discovered today, as a matter of fact, that I had accidentaly painted over my MFD for V3 and tried to download another one which did not work eariler today! Now I can continue my texture practice. Thanks! Debbie

So, I still consider myself a newbie to Poser. Had it just over a year now. I have uvmapper (the free one) and use it from time to time. I have a basic knowledge of modeling. When I make a texture for a model, its pretty basic. I bring the uvmapper image into Photoshop and paint on it then apply the texture to the model. So, with that, I have to ask a really silly question... what exactly are seam guides for and what do they do for texturing? Its my understanding that the seam guides mark the boundaries of the various meshes that make up a complex model. Why is it important to know where those boundaries are?

too line up the front and back halfs of the texture... That's why it's important Dave

I am working of a complex full-body tattoo at the moment and believe me, these guides are a must! After all you can't have the tattoo dragon's head not fixed to his body!

Eric, A regular template is just the mesh template, like you get it right from UVmapper. A seam guide has more information than that. For eaxmple, SnowSultan has helpfully color coded the little blocks so you know which mesh part mastches where exactly. He has also indicated other little areas of interest, such as location of buttocks, navel, etc, which make a texturemakers life easier.
