Everyone take it easy, I'm not looking for trouble, just trying to learn how to use poser. I guess the "shut up" was a little excessive, and sorry, but still, you all don't have to fly off the handle for everything, I'm new, I don't really know all the nuances of the forum. Once again, I'm sorry and I hope we can all learn from my mistake and move on. I was a little upset when I posted that reply, my computer just froze and it wouldn't restart and I took it out of you guys, sorry.

Well, we all have bad days...I'm having one myself today. It pays to remember, and I often don't so I'm not suggesting this is something that I'm good at, is that everyone here is volunteering their time to help each other. If they have been around for a long time, they have answered the same question 10 or 15 or more times. It is a new problem for you, an old solution for them. So if someone gets a little impatient, it isn't out of bad will. It is always a good strategy to check the manual or search the forums or take a look in the FAQ section of the Poser backroom before asking a question because the answer is already there. And you may still not be able to find it because the search engine on the forums, as we all know, is limited. Be a little patient. We know you want the answer quickly, and I think you'll find the response is remarkable around here. There's a wealth of information and I find I learn something every day just by reading the forums. It is also a remarkably forgiving group, in large measure, as you will find over time. It also helps to clearly state what your problem is in the subject line. "Poser 5 - texture won't load for Victioria 3" instead of "I need help" so that people with the information can find your qeustion easier. Just a thought. Take care. It will get easier over time...both with Poser and the forums.

Something I was told years ago, when learning UNIX, is that proper Forum Etiquette is to first lurch around for a while. Get to know who's who and how others post their questions before posting your own. Foremost, always use the Search and FAQs to avoid asking what has already been asked a dozen times over. Then like Dialyn stated, be as precise as possible with your question (sometime I go overboard and get everyone even more confused then myself, LOL) and mark your thread header clearly, but please don't YELL. And then you have to be patiant, if nobody responds then check the FAQs and search again, you may be asking what they are tiered of answering; if you find nothing then wait a couple days and repost with different wording - but don't try to sound impatiant! I myself lurched here for nearly a year before making my first post, Rendo has regretted it ever since ;p Also remember this is a very diverse community so watching the etiquette and politeness can be like walking on egg shells sometimes but all in all it's like the others say, a very responsive community, very forgiving community, Very Informative community! Blue Skies & Happy Rendering!

Sure we all cross the line from time to time :o) It takes a great man to apologize! You're great :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Oh, and remember: always, always RTFM it first! If you can show you at least tried, folk will be far more patiant with you.

Proper "Forum Etiquette" also applies to real life etiquette... Saying, "Shut up" to someone IRL will most likely get you punched in the mouth. Here it just gets some verbal abuse... So remember, if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't say it here either. We may just be some words on a screen for you, but we're still humans. But, I think since you are making an apology, you've come to realize that.
