Subject: Okay, let the contest begin to win our second Haunted House....it is amazing..

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 7:37 AM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:03 PM

Hi all, I am posting this here because it has to do with our newest model that will be for sale - The Second Haunted House, it will be released sometime tomorrow. I have a few things to fix on it so it is just perfect for you all, you should see it....oh you can't....ha ha....tomorrow for sure. Anyway, we said we would hold one more contest where you could get your chance to win this new model so here it is.... If you guess the actualy time it took to create this Second Haunted House model object file (not the textures or anything else) just the time it took to get the raw model completely done you will win this model. Please post here in this thread any guesses. You get 3 chances each to guess. We want the hours, minutes and seconds. The first one that answers correctly wins. We will annouce the winner as soon as there is one. If we don't have an exact winner by 16:00 CST (Renderosity time tomorrow), we will choose the person closest to the answer as the winner. Please if any of you are confused with anything regarding this contest ask now. Okay, good luck and let the guessing begin...... Sharen

I'll answer your question if you can answer mine. I just made an absolutely AMAZING model, but I can't show it to you. I can't even give you details on how big it is, what I used to make it, or how many poly's it has. I want YOU to guess exactly how much time, to the SECOND, it took me to make it. Remember, I'm not even going to throw you a bone. No hints, no nothing. For all you know it could have taken me hours, or just 3 seconds by importing it via kazaa... but I can't tell you. Really! But I want you to guess how long it took to make it!!! You realize how ridiculous this is? Sell the damned model and go on with your life. Don't take this personally or whatever, I just don't consider this a contest. I just feel that my intelligence was horribly offended. Mihnea

AprilYSH ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:05 AM

lol draculaz, it's a pot luck contest. It's just for fun and folks here do it all the time. I find it highly amusing you would let that "horribly offend" your "intelligence." Go on with your life, don't take this personally or whatever. Cheers for the new item Sharen and Mike :) I guess your cad magic weaved it in 1 hour 13 minutes. ;)

Mihnea, have a look at www.sams3d.com, look how the models of houses they create generally looks. And then just do a guess. This is a play, not something serious, so take it as a play:-)

Lunaseas ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:13 AM

6hours, 6minutes, 6 seconds......just cause 666 seemed like a good number for a haunted house:)

The house was shown on another thread. Scroll down, and you'll see it. It's wonderful. And I agree with the rest, lighten up. SAMS3D is one of the most generous members of this community. No need to take this contest that seriously.

Ok....my first guess is tons of hours....several minutes....and a few seconds second guess--30 hrs. 40 mins and 27 seconds and my third is more of a question than a guess.....did you really set the egg timer on this one?? lol looking forward to seeing the finished model, Teri R

pdxjims ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:29 AM

24 hours even. 23 hours and 23 minutes, no seconds. 37 hours and 23 mintues, no seconds. I'm assuming it's from the time of your original post. Sigh... I love contests, just not seconds.

gregsin ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:32 AM

I'll take a guess even though I have no clue. 24 hours, 12 minutes and 17 sec 21 hours, 13 minutes and 23 sec 30 hours, 15 minutes and 0 secs

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:37 AM

Actually you can figure this out....from the very first post regarding this specific house...and when I posted the preview. Mihnea, I am sorry you feel this is ridiculous, and I never ment to offend your intelligence, AprilYSH is correct in saying this is really just pot luck and a game to play for Friday. I guess I could have worded this differently so not to have taken your time and again I am sorry, I didn't think that this was going to cause a problem with anyone. Sharen You all need a hint....start again....it did go over at least 24 hours.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 08 August 2003 at 8:38 AM

You can delete your original guess and try again. Sharen

LOL...Teri Mike has a clock that automatically sets itself as soon as we start a new model on AutoCAD. That is how we know, that is why we don't want you to include any time for anything but the actual raw model. Sharen

Okay appartently I have started a small problem....so let me clear this up now, first I am sorry if I mislead anyone, second please remember this is just for fun, but you will win if you guess correctly, third this is all I can show you....but most have seen this....forth should I start over and restate what this post it..... not a contest, just for fun, took more than 24 hours...but someone will win. I think that you have made a mistake in your post. Most of the time it is amusing to see you rant and rave. But I truely feel that you harsh critisism is totally uncalled for and you owe Sharon an apology here. You are still young but I think that its time you adopt some social skills and ediquette. There are times where your harshness is appropriate but then there are times like this when you are dealing with a kind hearted, generous (extremely generous) person when you should ask for clarification in a polite way. Of course if you cannot make a genuine apology then don't bother. If you see nothing wrong in what you have said so be it. Sincerely, Angela

79 hours, 6 minutes, 57 seconds 57 hours, 46 minutes, 18 seconds 35 hours, 8 minutes, 30 seconds These guesses are symbolic to me.. first is my mom's age, number of children, and my age... second is my age, birth year and day of month.. third is my daughters age, month of birth, and day of birth. Figured I might as well guess using something, since I have no idea whatsoever on how long it would take.
