ok the problem is this : -in 3ds max 5 i've created a sphere and a pyramid and attached it to the sphere(fig#1) exported as a .obj and named it spikesout -then i made it a editable mesh and selected the point of the pyramid and reduced it(fig#2),exported it as a .obj and named it spikesno -on poser 4 i imported the spikesout and loaded a morph(spikesno) and a dial was created, shape 1 (fig#3) -but when i move the dial the hole figure moves up or down and becomes thin or fat.(fig#4 & 5) what i wanted was the sphere put the spike in and out what i'm doing wrong here?? thanks for helping

don't know 3ds max but here's my uninformed guess anyway... when you made it an editable mesh it could have changed it somehow? try: set up your shapes make it a mesh export as object change point of pyramid export as object using a magnet inside poser would be easier, but I'll bet you probably want to learn to make morphs with max. Right?

Do not have ANY options selected in Poser Import. Unless the mesh you wish to use the morph on is identical to the morph (except for what the morph does) the morph will not work. If you must alter the mesh on Import, use that as your morph stock. You may be able to salvage your morph by Importing it with identical settings and then Export it as a morph target and apply that.

"using a magnet inside poser would be easier, but I'll bet you probably want to learn to make morphs with max. Right? " correct shadowcat! "Do not have ANY options selected in Poser Import." well as you can see by the pic these is what i have selected when i import it!

Uncheck those three boxes! They poison your ability to use the morphs you made by pumping them out of your modeler as follow-ons to the original. The Poser Import has made a new geometry of your mesh. If you have this in Poser as a new mesh, you must use this mesh to generate your morphs.
