My heart hasn't been into 'scapes lately, but for some reason I keep doing them. I'm really sick of this one, but I think it has potential. Any ideas? Maybe a good post-worker would like to transform this into something better.

Looks good. Nice and mysterious. The only thing I can see is that it needs a focal point or center of interest. You have that massive twisting branch thing on the left, and then you have some cool plant guy over there to the right, and I want to look at both at the same time. Maybe a character or something between them would help solidfy the composition?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but this looks like a desert-type scene 'cause of the vegetation. How 'bout a scorpion, or tarantula in the foreground and a hungry owl watching from a branch? Eh, for what it's worth.

I like this. It looks like a walk through here would cut you to shreds.

It just occurred to me that a dinosaur off in the distance, fading into the mist would probably work well in this, and give it a focal point.

I thought of that as well, needing something to focus on instead of everything at once. But I couldn't decide what else to put in. I got to this point and hit a brick wall. Thanks for the suggestions.

you need stars, and to lower the fog a bit. in the middle you can have... err.. i don't know... something

The main branch diagonal carries the eye to the top right. Some thing flying might work, an eagle or a pteradactyl? I find the right hand bush slightly distracting. Interesting landscape.

I agree with Sambucus about the right plant. The atmosphere & dof is great, maybe a long neck critter-midway-poking up through the fog?

Hi Doug. May we sugest to put one of your beautiful stone statues in there on the spot were the right plant is? It could be overlooking the valley. Hang in there mate!

Those blades of grass remind me of your work "The Dentist" hehehe. It has a cemetery sort of atmosphere. One of your skulls, or head statues, or maybe that baby statue(always creeps me out) would look good there.

I agree with drac. Maybe if you made the fog/haze fade at the top in the sky and added a couple beaming stars.

Thanks for all the interesting ideas, everyone. I'm rendering a quite different version now, darker, moodier, with a tombstone and a cross. It's mostly in black and white and I used some DOF. I hope to post tonight :-) Doug

This looks cool as it is.... However I do agree that something mid screen would give a nice focal point. Don't get rid of the fog.... it gives it a super mysterious feel to this image. And you are right in saying that this image has some potential... It has lots of potential. Looks great so far. I am sure anxious to see the new render you have going when it is done. The black and white idea could really add to this. Nice work Doug. 8)
