Sometimes adjusting the z scale of the headgear works for me. But that probably won't help with the fantasy beard: that hair is too bushy. I don't think transmaps are the answer unless there's a clearly marked zone for the top of the head. But I could be wrong. And dynamic hair would do it, like PhilC's example. But if you want "hordes" I doubt you can use it...it would probably choke your machine.
I've found the Hat Hair morph, but it doesn't quite solve the problems I'm having; the hair still doesn't come out from under the helmet mnaturally (though it does n't grow out of the top anymore). I guess I'm going to have to learn about magnets, myself. The picture lhiannan posted above is what I'm aiming for, pretty much, but I don't know how that effect was achieved. Guy
Morphworld 3.0. What Traveler doesn't know about magnets never happened. I posted a reply before and it disappeared... hmm... in a nutshell... To attach file (pic, animated gif, tex file, ect), use the Attach File bar under the text box (what ya type in to reply here) and hit Browse to locate said file. In my pic in the thread way up above, I only used the Beard's own morphs, no magnets, no custom morphs.
With regard to "Horns" on helmets...there ARE some helmets with horns still existing..but they are from the Bronze Age in Europe. About 2000 years BEFORE the viking period. Thet were dicscoverd arounf the time folks statred taking an interest in past history and folks got the idea they were viking. The ones they found were thin bronze, relatively undamaged..so the theory is they were just ceremonial "status" symbols. They weren't 'practical' fighting helmets. You get a good downwards blow on the horns..and unless they were very loosely attached..the leverage would probably break your neck as some-one ponted out

Howdy, folks, I've been a Poser user for about a year now (recently upgrading to Poser5, Sr 3), and have dabbled a bit in the fantasy genre, but now I've run into a problem which stumps me. I bought the DAZ3d Viking pack to produce some doughty barbarian hordes, but I'm a bit stumped when it comes to putting hair and helmets together. The hair wants to stick out through the helmet instead of under it (I'm using the Morphing Fantasy Beard & Hair for Michael here, which was used in the Daz3d renders). Does anybody have any suggestions about how to achieve this effect? I'm assuming transparency maps are involved here, which I've only recently started trying to use, but I'm a bit confused about trying to use them with hair. Thanks in advance, Guy Hoyle
