Mike 2 has that same problem , when the body is "pumped" up, the neck stays the same, as for the traps "bulgy muscles on either side of the neck" they are perfect for the pose drax has him in, but in post #38 the traps do look overly developed, so you'll probably have to turn them down individually from the full body morphs

dirk5027 ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 9:38 AM

looking at drax's pic again, the neck looks thicker and the traps blend perfect, good job there

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 9:43 AM

Thanks dirk :) Worked hard on that MOR :)

Cyhiraeth ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:20 AM

I like the face in 45.

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:30 AM

I'm staying away from steroid Mike, myself. I like men who can bend. Nice to see Mike 3 can have some variations, but I'm not just overwhelmed with awe yet. (Not because the renders aren't all very nice...it's not a problem with the artists but just a lack of interest in this model. I felt the same way about the blond clone a few months ago.) I'm sure the Daz P.R. machine will take care of that inertia soon. I'd rather not have extreme shapes...not ulta thin (in men or women) or ultra bulky (in men or women) but some normal looking people for a change. Oh well. I know I'm a market of one for that.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:42 AM

I think the key to getting more normal looking people is to use the morph dials in graduations rather than setting them at "1" ... and to combine them, and even to use negative dials. There are more than enough morphs in M3 to accomodate a big range of people. And, if not, we can twist Beth's (aka Capsces) proverbial arm. 8-)

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:44 AM

If Beth didn't exsist, someone would have to morph her into being. Her variations are, indeed, first rate.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 10:53 AM

LOL Dialyn :o) Yeah I can't wait to get my greedy little paws on M3, so I can make him look like a REAL live man :o)

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:03 AM

As someone said it isn't just a turn of the "real man of my dreams" dial or anything but he does come with enough morphs that you can get most everything you want.

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:04 AM

I'm so old that the only requirement for the man of my dreams is that he be breathing....and that's optional. So I guess Mike will qualify.

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:09 AM

ROFL!

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:18 AM

Breathing and employed ROFL

AkoSteve ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:20 AM

I guess we'll need a "Breathless" M3 character set dedicated to Dialyn. :D

Lucy_Fur ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 11:44 AM

Ah - okay, I think I know what it is about the traps that is bothering me - in that I don't think they look natural.

I've just cruised a bunch of bodybuilder photos, trying to get a grip on the exact nature of what was catching my eye. And it IS the traps, but not so much that they're too high on the neck or too bulgey (is that even a word?) it's the they don't appear to go far enough out (towards the shoulders/delts.

Here are a few links to images I referenced, tho not the only ones & I couldn't find one quite exactly like Drax's MOR & pose - which is very good, btw ;) nummy! I do admit that the poses in the links tend to cause the traps to 'roll' forward, thus making them look more 'spread' across the tops of the shoulders only if they're flexed - they don't in a relaxed state.

Well, there is Rawnrr's Necronimus. I guess that would be out of dialyn's league for the breathing requirement.

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 12:01 PM

I'd say Necronimus was about my speed, actually. ;) Very cool graphic.

DCArt ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 12:11 PM

Yeah, but does he do windows? 8-)

Neo10 ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 12:53 PM

yay finnaly some action lol. In my posts i just did those two figures in less than 5 mins just to show two completly different sides on one char that's all m3 can of course be made to look dif. As for the traps if i remember correctly there is a morph to downsize them a bit of atlast soften them.

Mesh_Magick ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 2:50 PM

Hmm lower one eyebrow and give him an olive complection and you will have the ROCK!

Mesh_Magick ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 2:56 PM

Will we get Mike 2's head on mike 3's body in the deal? Like as in v3 to v2?

DraX ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 3:11 PM

V3 to V2 used the head of victoria 3, not victoria 2. As far as I know, DAZ plans to do the same for Mike 3

pakled ( ) posted Thu, 04 September 2003 at 3:19 PM

Heck, I'd be happy with 'lo-res Mike', if they'd ever make one..;)
Sometimes I rent it out when I don't need it, and sometimes I leave it at home when I think it will get me in trouble..

Pakled, I wasn't sure if you are kidding or not about Lo-Res Michael, but here he is anyway:

Jim Burton ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 9:48 AM

I'd like to think I had something to do with this, as I did some bitching at DAZ after Vicky 3 came out, about how the people who broker there should have gotten advance copies so they could get a head start on working up products for her. This is tough to do for DAZ, as Mike 3 isn't finished until he is done, and if they (say) change the morphs near the end they are going to piss-off clothing makers who have made their clothing work with the original morphs. Plus you can't do textures until the UV mapping is final, and so on. Anyway, he is going to be great, I only wish my set could have been ready for the intro, but it is going to be about a week late(r), it looks like. Going to be Tux, incidently, Gee, Jim's first-ever male set!

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:23 AM

A tux, Jim? Really. A nice looking tux would be great. Vicky has so much evening wear (must be nice to be independently wealthy in her virtual world) that it would be nice to have a hot looking escort. Loved the men's shoes you made too.

lhiannan ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:30 AM

It's the same as Barbie & Ken... everyone knows Barbie, she has closets full of stuff (clothes, shoes, handbags, cars, BBQ sets, dance studios, floofy dogs...) And then there's Ken... What? Ken who? Oh, the dweeb with the plastic hair... Didn't they eventually give him a shaving kit? Oh, there's useful props! Hehe...

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:35 AM

If you don't mind admitting you're playing with dolls, I don't mind admitting it. ("There action figures, darn it.")

lhiannan ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:41 AM

It is playing with dolls :) Expensive, demanding, addictive dolls.

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:49 AM

Not "there..." but "they're." Sigh. It's my father's slurring accent channeling through my fingers.

Caly ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 10:58 AM

Barbie would get the cars, the house, the pool, even a trailer. Ken actually got hair once or twice, but they usually left him with a plastic top and his plastic briefs. Looking forwards to a Tuxedo!

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 11:13 AM

Ken was just an excuse for the wedding dress. Funny how many adult women still have the same idea. The worst idea for Ken hair was that fuzzy stuff that they used to make "fur" on plastic animals. I remember it being bright yellow. Very unlikely. That is, until I saw someone today with the very same hair. I guess Ken was ahead of his time.

DCArt ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 11:16 AM

ROFL! Wait till you see it in maraschino cherry red ;-)

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 11:17 AM

"it" could refer to so many things in this thread. Some of them would be disturbing in cherry red.

DCArt ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 11:21 AM

LMAO!!!!

lhiannan ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 11:47 AM

Snort hehehehe......

RHaseltine ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 1:01 PM

Why couldn't the floofy dog have been for Ken? I remember the fuzzy hair - they tried it on Action Man (GI Joe) too.

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 1:03 PM

I think Ken got to walk the floofy dog but everything belonged to Barbie. She is the Martha Stewart of dolls.

dialyn ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2003 at 1:04 PM

P.S. does anyone remember that they used the same fuzzy stuff for the inside of Yugos??? No wonder those cars were so cheap to build. Spray on linings!
