Please consider including the edit changes for "Figure Independent Injection" as discovered very recently by Maveris. There may be a downside, but in a week plus I've not encountered or heard of one. And it makes M3 (and V3 and any other Injected figure) much more useable in Poser for mulitple figure scenes. The affected files are small - so perhaps even providing as a separate install option until you've had more time to test to your satisfaction? (It is a lot of files to leave for an end-user to edit.) Link provided above.Oh great, I JUST finished the seam guides for him this very minute. ;) Anyway, thanks for letting us know; I guess I'll wait on uploading the guides until the update is out. SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.
Thank you very much for continuing to improve this fine mesh. I hope that you will also pay attention to the "issues" on the head. I've noticed, for example, that the cheeks tend to bunch up against the nose in strange and unnatural-looking ways when several non-expression facial morphs are used (at low settings) together. Forgive me for not being able to express this more technically. It's something I've seen a few people mention.
Actually, the PBMStretch____ are not really morphs. They are remote masters for long axis scale channels. For the neck it is the yscale. For the neck it is just 10% of the master value - the rate is 0.1 Because they are not morphs, they do not spawn into new morphs. PBMStretchArms is xscale for Shldr+ForeArm+Hand. Well, for the left side it is. For the right side it is only on rShldr You might want to fix that. Do you really want the Hand in there?
The dial names do not have "PBM", that is true, but then all of the dials for the channels that you are supposed to use don't either. When you do see a dial that has "PBM_" it is an indication that you should go to BODY or the central group to find the dial that you should use. The channel name is PBMStretch_____ and that is the name in the ERC code. The channel name line is valueParm PBMStretch____ You have to use a program other than Poser to see a channel name though. The dial names are ephemeral - a user can change them within Poser. The channel names are intended to be permanent. PBM in V3 and in M3 is not used to precisely identify Partial Body Morphs. It is used as a generic designation. The stretch channels are not morphs at all and the ones with dials in BODY, which is pretty much all of them, are actually FBM. A master dial in BODY is the definition of a Full Body Morph. The breast morphs and several others are both FBM and PBM - the BODY dial controls one dial in chest and the chest dial controls the others. The dials in chest that do not have PBM as part of the name will work as well from chest as they do from BODY. But use one or the other. Using both will ake it difficult to know that the actual value is.

Thanks for the update. I didn't have the time to install it and test it yet because I'm changing my PC and have to reinstall Poser, but I followed all the threads here and in other forums to check what is wrong or not. Please see also post number 7 in the thread linked above for another problem in the shoulder area.Maybe you know about that yet...
BTW, It is taking a while but I'm getting used to M3 appearance and I think I like this new body type better, but I still Hope that youll eventually make a new hulk like character specifically designed and jointed for the extreme muscular body type.
I think you are jumping to conclusions Darkmatter, it has nothing to do with not being well recieved, or slow sales. if sales of my set are any indication m3 is still selling fine. its about fixing some small issues that people had with their model. its about listening to their customers, something I know is rare these days, but DAZ has always done so. V3 also had a similar update shortly after her release. unfortunately beta testers can't catch everything, and these kind of updates are impossible to avoid.
wdupre, Your right about DAZ and I agree but, some of the areas they are fixing were to obvious to have been overlooked by beta testers in the first place or maybe the beta testers didn't over look those and DAZ just didn't fix them before releasing M3..who know, I sure don't. Only the beta testers and DAZ do.
What is important is that they are fixing it. I hope that they do it well so that we dont have to download all the packs multiple times. May I suggest to start the Platinum Club forum on the DAZ site or Arcana in which you can post some preview pictures of the fixes so we the user/costumer could see the work in progress, request some particular shots (camera angles or poses) so that we could point out the real problems and you can fix all in one Service Release?
Thanks, Daz! :) DarkMatter, I too believe you are jumping to conclusions. V3 got a service update quickly as well, and if you look at the Galleries you can tell that she is very popular indeed. ;) Daz is just following through and doing what needs to be done.

First, I'm happy to report I was able to get M3 working on my Mac OS 9.2.2. in Poser 4.0.3. Hooray! I had to do bunch of un-installs, redownloads, reinstalls, and increase Poser's memory. Problems with M3 not already mentioned above: 1) The pectorals - I don't know if this covered by the first thing in DAZ's list, but I noticed M3's pectorals get choppy looking instead of having a smooth surface when the body setting is changed from the default shape. 2) The M3's nipples seem a little odd too when changed from the default shape. They are indented into the pecs instead sitting on the surface. When morphs, such as "move up", are applied, bizarre lumps show up in the pecs like in #1 above. The depressed nipples are even more noticeable. When adding body settings to bulk-up M3, the pecs bulge up around the nipple, but the nipple itself stays where it was instead of bulking upwards along with the pecs. I hope that made sense. I can attach a few screen captures later today to better illustrate what I mean. bB, who's happy there's going to be an M3 update :D
What happened to the body bump map dark-light inversion problem? Chest hair impressed into the chest area (vs. raised above). Has this been forgotton about or addressed already? It was demonstrated in threads here the first or second day after release. The "wet skin" images were the clearest manifestations of the problem IIRC.
Okay: Issues I'd like fixed All my issues are morph inadequecies. Don't get me wrong, DAZ, because M3's great, but I paid the same amount for m3's head pack and V3's, and got twice as many morphs with V3. All those various nationality morphs were very useful once I got used to them. M3's great, but the more I work with him, the more I think perhaps he was rushed out. I understand you can always release more morph sets for more money, but, like many others have stated, I paid good money expecting the same value, and got less. Oh, also? The forearm issue. His forearms look kinda... funky most of the time. The joint between the forearm and the upper arm, to be specific.

The Michael 3.0 SR1 update is now available, you may either download the update file from the product page, or simply check your account as you should have new downloads available to you (perhaps 15 or 20 for some of you, ;) ) We hope you like the fixes, we did our best to incorporate all the major issues that were brought to our attention. Hopefully this will be the only update for Michael 3.0, but if serious, non-aesthetic issues arise, we will address them. Thank you and enjoy M3!, Steve Kondris DAZ Productions, Inc.Thanks Steve! No new downloads on the account page or on the M3 Upgrade page. There is one on the M3 base product page. Is it safe to assume that those of us who got the M3 Upgrade can use that one? I'll wait for a response before installing. I suppose I will have to move M3 and the related files back to where they were originally? I have Poser 5 and use subfolders a lot. The upgrade for the Hi-Res Maps would not install until I moved everything back to it's original spot :)
Hey Steve, I got the SR-1 update and installed it. Tried testing it with some full body morphs. Works good on the right side of the body but doesn't affect either the left arm or from the thigh down. The right side of the body morphs good, not the left. Should I have uninstalled M3 and done a fresh install before installing the update? Thanks, Cherokee

We are in the middle of preparing the first update to Michael 3.0 which we hope to release within 10 days from now. We have several items that we've found and have corrected. We also are open to hearing any of the possible *technical issues* that you, the customer, may have found. Below is a list of known items that are being addressed in this first update. If you are aware of anything not listed here that is a technical issue and not a matter of aesthetics or other subjective feedback, please post it as a reply here in this thread and our production team will make note of the valid items mentioned.NOTE TO THIRD PARTY DEVELOPERS: The last item is of particular importance to 3rd party developers who are making use of morph targets which affect those regions as these are having to be redone due to the lack of symmetry that is being corrected.
Thank you in advance for your patience and honest feedback. We plan to keep working on Michael 3.0 until he's every bit as solid as his DAZ counterparts.
Sincerely,
The DAZ Team
