I just cant get any ideas, the ideas I do get, I just dont feel like doing. The ideas that actually make it to the bryce stage, end up being failures. im just frusturated I guess, blowing a bit of steam, (look at my rage:) school sucks by the way my heads about to explode. who knows maybe ill come up with something soon...

woodhurst, what I like to do is take something that inspires me, like the Thomas Kinkade picture I'm doing in Bryce, and make it real... If creating your own stuff is blocking you for now, try to find something to imitate, and make it your own... (TK is a great place to find inspirational pieces btw) As a painter of light, His works are simply amazing....adjusting the studio lights can take an image from noon to dusk with the lights seeming to glow.. (in bryce that'd be easy, just change brightness of the lights as you reduce the amount of sunlight....grins) just some thoughts on what inspires me. I've been working on another image too for something else...you've all seen those dungeon scenes, dark, cold damp kinda places, well, I've been working on one with some warmth to it...lol I know I know, they not supposed to be that way, but hey, it looks good....hahahahah good luck and if you need some links or hugs and stuff, just give a holler. thanks jen, yeah ive been looking around on the galleries here and at cgtalk alot, and been been browsing through the galleries of some of my favorite artists--I was going to re-make a Ted Nasmith painting in Bryce, but i kind of forgot about it until now. maybe Ill try to start a new prject this afternoon. thamks for the support and enthusiasm, it is greatly apprciated. have an awesome day. At the moment woodhurst I'm the same. I started out making an image for the challenge here, also an image for the cover contest and an image for the weird science contest over at 3DCommune and now I can't think of where to go with any of them. I guess this is what's meant by spreading yourself to thinly and coming to a full stop. I hope you find your inspiration an me to. 8( Catlin

Or...you could stop trying so hard and watch some tube, play a game, read a book, take a long walk, anything except worrying about it. :^) Just relax, Jordan, and don't think about it for a while, and I'll bet an idea will come on its own. It usually works for me.

But I've complained about having a dry spell before in the Forum myself, LOL. I think it happens to every artist.

Heck, I'm coming back after not touching bryce for 8 months due to an extremely upsetting artistic experience. Now if only my latest render would just FINISH!!!! I would be working on my challenge submission. Yeesh.

I like to go for long walks in the woods around home to relax, or better yet go someplace NEW!, someplace you've never seen before, or someplace you always wanted to visit. Sometimes new surroundings spark ideas...hope this helps. We all gor through a dry spell now and again, don't worry....

Have you tried prunes? I understand completely. I have 4 things for thte marketplace than need just a little bit more. The textures on my challenge are going from bad to worse. I have three other renders about half completed plus a mesh I started for Zhann. I got pictures for modeling a SG1 Stargate that have been sitting fo a month. I'm going to take my camera and go to the smokies this weekend. The eagles start coming down the appalachians about now to winter in the swamps around Arkansas Louisiana. You can sit around Elizia Oliver's cabin in Cades Cove and watch one after another come down the range. A big dose of fresh air and sunshine, that's what you need. I think it's a case of reverse spring fever.

jeez electro you dont know how much I would kill to go with you to the smokies. My dad came back from there a few months ago and i was incredibly jealous. Be sure to bring back some pics--take a few of the chimney tops for me:))

I guess I'm lucky in the escape category. I live only an hour away from Door County, Wisconsin. Cliffs, lighthouses, and some awesome bays in Lake Michigan. Always good for inspiration and relaxation. Otherwise, movies are always good for me. :c)

heck, if school, or anything else is buggin' you, try putting it on the screen..works for me sometimes..have one coming up soon, in fact..;)

Well I've sorta got over my block by working on the Bryce challenge image and it's set to render for a day and a half. I think it was actually putting my block into words that helped, so I hope it works for you too woodhurst. 8) Catlin

Sorry, but the chimney's are about 22 miles from Cades cove on a very winding road. It's also about 3 hours to hike to the top (17 minutes to come down). I can't do both in one day. How about pictures of the chimneys from Cades cove?

I've got too many ideas at the moment and too little time to make them. I spend all my bryce time working for Orbital Threat at the moment. If anyone's out of ideas, just ask me and I've got lot's of ideas for anyone to use :)
