Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 27 5:13 pm)
It uses the same texture on both sides--or at least it does for most animals. Poser works from the texture which is linked to the geometry--by your .cr2 (someone else will give you a 'real' explanation LOL). Your texture must be mapped and have the same geometry-.obj. If you do a NEW template/texture map in UV Mapper, then you must save that new .obj in your geometry and have your .cr2 point to the new geometry. IF this doesn't make sense to you, go to the tutorial for UV mapper and try it. If you haven't yet edited the cr2, then come here and we will walk you through it. However--in most cases, the objects will already have a template or you can open the .obj in UV Mapper and get the 'default' template. You MUST use the template EXACTLY as it is for it to work--now, LOL, don't ask ME just why it works--for me, it just 'does' G. Diane B
Thanks Diane B what I am trying to do is make a templet to make the Cape Lookout Light house . I can't seem to get the triangle shapes to match up. I have the base object (of the lighthouse) but in the uv mapper I can't seem to find a templet that will show me enough of the sides to make it work. So I was trying to do it on just one side and make it do the other. hope I am making my self clear. bty you are an N.C. girl? Thanks again. skee

You select "Edit->New UV Map->Planar" and under Split select "don't split". This will place both sides in the same place on the map (pass through mapping.) But I would recommend cylindrical mapping for the body of the lighthouse, and then adjust the sides of the body to the sides of the texture map. This way the texture map pattern will wrap. If you'd like me to have a try at it you can mail it to me at stevecox@optonline.net Steve
Oh, no, the template "style" for the animal just won't work for a lighthouse. I understand your dilemma now-thank goodness Steve answered S--I haven't tried mapping anything like this but occasionally use cylindrical for dresses. Yes, I'm a NC girl--western foothills. I'll be anxious to see the lighthouse. Diane B
