Hello all.... I'm new to the world of Bryce, but I think I'm gonna like it! I've been using Poser 4 for 3 months now, but I just now got around to playing with the Bryce 4 demo. The thing is, the demo doesn't come with a help file, so I'm somewhat lost. Could someone tell me where is a good site for Bryce tutorials for newbies? Thank you much! Mike

Where in the world did you find a demo? I've been looking all over and can't find one anywhere. And I'm one of those folks who is not about to shell out more than $25 for a program that I don't even know if I can use. :) Kate

Kate, The Bryce demo ,I think, is no longer available, at least from Meta Creations. I don't know if Corel has one available yet. Anyway, the demo was included on the Poser 4 CD :) And it's also on the Painter 6 CD. If I knew that it was OK to redistribute the demo, I'd be more than happy to do so (19 MB's). If you're interested, I will find out if it's OK for me to send you the demo version via email. If Corel (http://www.corel.com ) doesn't have a demo version available, then they're really just screwing themselves, and the fact that I bought it solely because I had the chance to try it out first is perfect testimony to that fact. So,if they DON'T have an "official" demo available, if you want, I'll email them and ask if it's OK to send you a copy. :) If you're interested, email me at mowenj@mediaone.net , and I'll get right on it... hey, I've got some of your Vue freebies :) so, I owe you one! Cheers! Mike

Doh! I never even thought to look on the Poser 4 CD. thanks! Kate

Kate, DOH!!...right back at ya! You told me about using Vickie with Vue. Now how else would you have known that if you didn't already have Poser 4? LOL Cheers, Mike

Well, I found the demo and all I can say is YUCK!!! This is the most confusing interface I've ever seen. I can't get it to do anything at all other than create a terrain and texture it with the "stock" texture. talk about boring. Can't make any sort of a picture at all. Oh well. I'll just put it on the shelf with TrueSpace and be glad I didn't spend any actual money on it. Kate (who has been trying to figure out TS since version 2 with no luck so far)

Kate, Sorry to hear that, but you know, since you have Vue d 'Esprit, you really need not worry about Bryce anyway, because I can tell you that I have yet to be able to do anything in Bryce that I cant' do better, more easily, and quicker with Vue. That's not to knock Bryce, though... I don't know why you can't make a decent picture with it, because even I managed to eventually get something going. I liked it enough that I even got the full version since I started this thread, but I have to admit, I prefer Vue by far. I know what you mean about TS! LOL I had that demo and had to say the hell with it. I didn't have the slightest idea what I was doing, and never managed to do anything with it. Well, I take that back... I un-installed it with the UTMOST of sucess! LOL Cheers, Mike
