Subject: Newbie looking for eyelash tutorial for Poser 4

Hi All.

I am starting of from the beginning. Poser 4, Mike 2, and Mike 2 medium resolution texture from Daz. Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to do eyelashes?

I started out by setting all the body parts in the Material box to white and applied the textures. Now I am down to the white eyelashes. How do I apply them?

Also, in the Materials box the first option is Preview. What is that?

Thanks for the help, DrOsborn

Preview is the box color when you move stuff in the document window. Color the lashes black and see if you have a Mike2 head texture called eyelashtrans.jpg or similar, which you apply as the transparency map.

when you apply the transparency map change transparency max to 100 and change transparency falloff to 0 (zero) You don`t apply a map to the preview colour just to make that clear.

M2HeadTr.jpg is the Michael 2 lash transparency, in DAZCharactersMilMan in the Poser Textures folder: you load that as the transparency map, bottom right of the materials dialogure in Poser 4. However, if you look in the Pose library you should find a folder of MAT files which will do the colorisation and texture application for you - I can't remember the folder name, since I combine them to avoid running out of slots (Poser 4 is limited to 255 folders per library).

don`t you need propack to use MAT files?

No - MAT files work with Poser 4 on, not sure about 3. Some MAT files don't work correctly with Poser 5.

Rhaseltine, thanks for the advice. But if I let the MAT files do all the work for me, I wouldn't learn anything. :)
