Subject: Template size

I understand you can make templates any size you wish (such as 1500x1500). But I was wondering how does Poser know where to look for the images it needs... such as eyes, face, etc?

You have to tell it where to look. Either by applying the textures manually from the Materials editor/Room, or by a MAT pose.

Thanks. I was more concerned with how a single image lines up prefectly on the model (such as a face) no matter how large the painted texture is. For example, if you have a small picture, it will fit on the screen... but if it's too large, you can only see a part of it on the screen (oversize). However, you can load a 150x150 or a 1500x1500 texture and it fits perfectly on the model? I guess poser automatically adjusts texture alignment according to the size of the map.

It works like this... UV coordinates are not pixel placements, they are values that represent a 'percentage' across or down the image in question. So a value of 0.0 is the left/top-most pixel position, a value of 0.5 is halfway across/down the image and a value of 1.0 is the right/bottom-most pixel position of an image - regardless of the image's dimensions. (Note: some apps use a bottom/left position of 0/0, some apps use a top/left position as 0/0.. I'd have to double-check to see which one Poser uses, but I think it's top/left). Does that help?

Cinema4D Plugins (Home of Riptide, Riptide Pro, Undertow, Morph Mill, KyamaSlide and I/Ogre plugins) Poser products Freelance Modelling, Poser Rigging, UV-mapping work for hire.

Yes... but I could really use some help with my newest post topic (above)... texture model.

Thanks Spanki...a great explanation...I was wondering that myself!
