Subject: Who let the dogs out? (Millennium Dog)

Just in case anyone's not reading the DAZ forum, they've announced the MilDog will be released this week. Not only that, but it will be free. The LE version, anyway. You'll have to buy the morph pack that will let you morph it into extra breeds, and the texture packs.

I just found out, today, that my great dane has bone cancer. I am really glad to hear that the dog pack will be comming out soon, as I would very much like to create a texture/picture of her before we have to make the "final" dreaded decision. Her ears are not cliped but she will still look like the dog we love so very much. At this moment, she has a swollen Knee, but everything else is Ok, so...hopefully.........with the meds, that will go down and she will be with us a little time longer.

I am sorry to hear about your dog, when my dog died I cried like a baby.

Same here...my wife (linnymac) lost her beloved rat terrier (read that to mean Dire Wolf in Midgets Clothing) to heart problems a few years ago and I lot my Husky/Wolf hybrid to poisoning a year after that. We never quite get over them, do we? I'll be looking forward to the MilDogLE with great anticipation. Knowing our community, it won't be long before there's all kinds of textures for the pooch. Say, was there ever a release of the MilCat?

Poor Genny (and doggie). My guinea pig, Thompson, died two weeks ago. Even though he was just a squeeking, animated wig (as my father put it) I was devastated. I do have a new piggy now (Tenchi) but I still miss Thompson. It comes to us all in the end of course but I bet you are giving your Great Dane lots of love and I am sure she appreciates that. She may surprise you and have many years yet. Hugs, Elgyfu

Yes, the MilCat was released. I like it a lot. The upcoming release of the MilDog was announced in the "Members Only" forum (the forum for Platinum Club members) at DAZ with an image of the MilCat hissing at something unknown. The next message revealed what was so upsetting: the MilDog!

Genny - my thoughts & prayers will be with you and your Dane. We have a 3 yr old tan/honey color male named Zak. We got him thru a Dane rescue organization two years ago. What a goofy, humorous breed, huh? Just one look at that face, and you can't help but smile.... Ray

I will expect Vista Internet Products to have fun with the MilDog. You should see the great "Wild Cat" product that they have for MilCat. Hopefully DAZ MilDog will also inspire a wide range of dog breeds being created.

Lawndart ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 3:50 PM

I'm getting those! They do great stuff. It looks like you have to get this in the mail only. Am I right? Sorry for the OT. Sorry for the loss of the animules. We lost our Kitty Sabastian to kidney failure. I miss the head messages with his tongue. RIP buddy...

cedarwolf ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:10 PM

Ok, does anyone have the link to download the MilCatLE?

HeavyRay ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:37 PM

Joe - Vista burns their product(s) onto CD (vice download) and sends them in the mail. But they are VERY prompt and purchase arrives in seemingly no time at all! I've made several purchases from them, each one a delight.... Ray

randym77 ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:37 PM

There was no MilCat LE. Just the cat, poses, and texture maps. It would be harder to do LE version for cats, I imagine, because cats don't have as many morphs as dogs. So they didn't sell the morphs separately with the MilCat.

randym77 ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:39 PM

Not only that, but the Wild Cat package is huge. It practically fills a CD. So even with broadband, buying it on CD is probably a good idea. :-)

Lawndart ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:41 PM

HaevyRay: Thanks for the input. I'm off to get this product. Woo Hoo...

genny ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 4:52 PM

Thank you all so much for your kind words, and I am sorry to hear of your loses too. No matter what the "critter" is, be it a dog, cat, or guinea pig.....they are so much a part of our lives, our families, that it is always so difficult when something happens to them.

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 5:20 PM

WooHoo!! Glory be, and about time too. Sharen I'll keep you company by the door. 8) Catlin

There are a few promo pictures in The Commons area at the DAZ forum as well. The last I'd heard, the dog should be ready for adoption this week. There will be a great dane morph in the Morph Pack, among others. A few people have asked about that one already. :) Cheers!

Crescent ( ) posted Sun, 18 January 2004 at 7:41 PM

Forgot - due to the way the DAZ forum does log on security, you might have to click on that link, flip back to this page, then click the link again if you're not logged onto the DAZ site at the time.

Genny, {hug} I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. May you have joy in the time left with him. Carolly

dialyn ( ) posted Mon, 19 January 2004 at 10:03 AM

I had to have two of my fur friends put to sleep this past year, both of cancer, and I know how hard it is. It is a great gift we have to give them peace from their pain, but it is one of the hardest decisions to make. I'm really sorry it's one you have to face.

genny ( ) posted Mon, 19 January 2004 at 10:31 AM

Thank you, Carolly and Dialyn...your kind words are very much appreciated. (:

Oh Genny I just reread the thread and realised you were having such heartache. Hopefully the meds will give your dog much more time to be with you and when it does come time to make that terrible descision my heart and thoughts will be with you. I lost my cat just over a year ago and for me I didn't have to make that descision because he died of a heart attack. I don't know if the suddeness made it worse or not but I wish I could have done something to help him, I still think of him often and miss him terribly. Take care and I hope all goes well. 8) Catlin
