Whew! finally got it done and it's in Freestuff. a map-pack with 14 bump maps, 15 new reflection maps, 40 examples, a lighting and camera set-up, and a long-winded readme that covers it all there is to know. so if you want to make any of the fabrics above plus, as they say "many, many more!", then this is for you. the tackiest materials in town are now possible! one small prob is it's 2.5 Mb, but I couldn't get it down any more. oh, and if you don't have a black sense of humor, don't even BOTHER opening the readme! (chuckle!) And if you read this, Vethril, please don't have a heart-attack over this one! enjoy! maclean

Congatulations and thanks. One of the best and most usefull uploads for some time. I am going to be playing with this one for a while and it will, I think, be part of most people's standard repetoire. (now all we need are lots of tartans to do Bay City Rollers stuff) Vive le Tacky John

I just dl'd the texture pack, some of those look like just what I need for a few scenes. After I've had time to play with them a bit, I may experiment with em in bryce. If I have any luck, would you like the Bryce .mat versions to add to your downloads?

thanks for all the enthusiasm, guys! makes it all worthwhile. Storm, did you have to remind me of the Bay City Rollers. Scotland's national embarrassment! Us Scots have been trying to live that one down for years! Now I'll keep thinking about them...eugh! ironbear.....duhhh....what? I'm still olaying with Bryce 2, the free one I got from a magazine! I dunno.. any thoughts on this one, anyone...it occurred to me that using tex maps, you can put creases, folds and shadows on clothes. have been playing with it (a basic pleated skirt) but I need to think of a way to make it realistic. maybe my next project, I'll see how it goes. ther best to all maclean

PS would be interested to know what results people are getting with map-pack. I didn't fully explore all the possible combinations maclean

Oh... sorry. I tend to take all of my poser stuff into bryce4 to render. A couple of those look like they could translate into .mats (bryce4 material files) pretty nicely. Might make a nice addition to your downloads for the bryce users if you want them... after I fool around with em a bit, I'll let you know.
