Subject: Poser 5 Figure into CS3

kits ( ) posted Tue, 20 January 2004 at 4:07 PM · edited Sun, 17 November 2024 at 9:22 AM

Hi all got a problem when I export a poser 5 character as an obj file to CS3. When I open it up the eyeball textures are gone, making the eyes appear all white. The rest of the body and the head textures are fine. This does not happen when I do the same with a poser 4 figure. and the only workaround that I have found is to remap the P5 eyeballs with a flat map and use a normal square map. Has anyone figured out how to get the poser supplied UV map to work properly. Any help at all on this would be greatly appreciated. Chris_S

are they gone in the preview or when you render? thought maybe it might just be a preview issue...

They are gone in both the preview and the render. Chris_S

Probably the extra glass ball they put around the eyeball. Try isolating some of the eyeball parts and checking the invisible box to see if that's the problem.

THanks Patrick will give what you say a try Chris_S

Search further down the list here. There is a nice tutorial on P5 to Carrara. If the boss would put it in the tutorial section, it would be easier to find.

Thanks All Patrick had the right of it. once I made the eyeball cover and the iris cover transparent there was the texture in place all the time. I'm new to CS3 and I'm a slow learner. Once again thanks Chris_S
