Okay.. this is -really- REALLY odd and more than a little frustrating. I use 3dpo ( great program) to make my rsr's.. I render to pds format.. I then save the thumb in png format in Photoshop.. I open 3dpo and click >Edit>Save Image as>and save as an rsr. This has always worked without a hitch every single time.. until now?? I go through the exact same steps as I always have.. yet when I load my pack into poser, non of my rsr's are showing.. instead I get the shrugging man. I have tried saving in indexed color.. no go. Tried saving in rgb, no go. Tried dumping all the old rsrs and remaking them from my saved psd files.. no go.. Upgraded my 3dpo and re-tried everything I've just listed.. STILL get the shrugging man ( although this time he's on a trendy blue background) The -really- screwed up part is that they load perfectly in poser five. Now.. I HAVE poser five.. I just got it.. and its STILL IN THE WRAPPER... I havent even opened it. So.. has my computer finally become telepathic and decided it wants to be an rsr snob? Im honestly stumped here gang, and in serious need of help. Im posting here because this is where I have always come when I need a question answered. I've yet to be let down :P Any assistance at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -stace-

Just curious, maybe it's too early in the morning and I need my coffee but how do you know they load into poser 5 if you haven't installed it yet? lol Marque

There was an error in the RSR-PNG converter in the latest release of P3DO that caused something like that - there is an update to the plugin set that fixes it, should be in freestuff or on Yarp's site

Marque- a couple of my testers have p5, as did the marketplace tester that went through my pack :) RHaseltine- Thanks for the info! I'll waddle over and see if it makes any difference.. The thing is.. this was happening before I ever installed the update/upgrade.. ponders Gahh.. I hope like heck this works.. I'll check in to it and post the results :)

OKay, I tried the fix and it didnt help.. So I figure I'll uninstall it and re-install, right? nope. I go to Yarps site and I cant ever figure out where the full version is.. All I see are the upgrad downloads.. This is getting out of hand. sigh

I was teasing you Stacey, not accusing you of anything. Did you email the person to get another copy of the original? I go through this all the time, take a deep breath and do a search, maybe you have it on your drive and can start from scratch. Don't use that one so don't know how to help. Was trying to lighten your day a bit. 8^) Marque

Marque- Aww I didnt think you were accusing me of anything, sorry if it came across that way :( I just deleted the pack files from my runtime and will be trying the files in my c drive runtme folder I use to zip my packs. Im hoping it was the zip that was corrupted. I finally found the proper download for the P3do and it still isnt working out sigh I have the psd files of the thumbs, but I've already tried remaking the thumbs with them ( saving to png, then to rsr via p3do) and it isnt helping. I feel like Im missing something pretty basic here and its making me wonky :P takes the suggested breth and hunts for coffee so she can try again

Stacey, Could it be something in Poser not directly related to the rsr's you are trying to make? Like maybe a corrupted Poser .rsr? Pardon me if I sound like a doofus, but unexplained stuff like this often gets the standard reply of "delete all the rsr's from the geometry folder" or some such thing - do you have any idea what I'm talking about or shall I just stop talking, slink of to a corner and be quiet again? ;)

The goddess Mahna figured out my issue.. it wasnt poser OR P3DO.. it was a lack of coffee and lack of attention. Check it out. I made the thumbs in photoshop right? Did the type and what not and saved as a png.. Well what stacey dearest FORGOT to do.. was FLATTEN the damned image prior to saving as a png. Heres what happened. I made the thumb and put my type on it. I did a 'merge down' rather than a 'flatten image' I saved as a png I opened said png into p3do ( keep in mind, this is a program that SEES unmerged photoshop images as well) I saved the unmerged png to .rsr Now.. the image is -still- unmerged even though its now in rsr format. This is why we could -see- the rsr's in P3do yet not see them within poser. P3do could see if because it can see unmerged images. Poser has not yet been made that spiffy :P So.. to all you thumb makers out there.. Dont do this.. it sucks. g Thanks for all the help gang, sorry to sound the alarm fo nothing :P -stace-
