Hi everyone. I just got Poser 4 and am totally lost. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for someone who's completely new to Poser and doesn't really know a thing? I'm desperate! I've been looking at all the great work in the galleries and I want to do stuff like that, but at this point it seems like a lost cause. Any help would be GREATLY apreciated!! Thanks!!!

Well you should probably read the manual a little to get yourself familiar with the software. My suggestion is to just play around with all the buttons and bells to see if you understand any of it. Basically, on your right you open up your library, it has Figures, Poses, Hair, Props etc., if you want a character (figure) in your screen, double click your choice and it shall appear in your screen, then click a part of the body and some dials will appear to your right, start moving them around and you will see what happens. But really you should just start playing with it. Have fun and if you have a specific question just ask. Above this forum are links to tutorials that will help you out. Sharen

It is a good idea to read the manual first, it is a bit dull but it tells you most of the basic things that you need to know.

Search messages for DG# or Dr. Geep, He has posted some fantastic tutorials, also Fallencity.com has some very good ones also. I've only been doing this for two months and the people here are fantastic for answering questions and offering suggestions. Just dive right on into thepool and join the orgy! (If you check my previous posts you'll understand that last comment!) Best of Luck and enjoy most of all!

Actually, my tutorials are at fallencity.net, not .com. I have a lot of geep's tutorials in .pdf format and I have a range of others, including Huolong's "I have Poser, now what?" tutorial. Hopefully those can get you started.

Cheers!

Sorry about that Crescent! I meant .net and I knew that but had a bit of a mind flip; "You're into the time slip" "And nothing can ever be the same" "You're spaced out on sensation" "Like you're under sedation!" "Let's do the Time Warp again" Sorry, it's habit!

I just didn't want the soon to be ept newbie get frustrated. ;-) Also take a look at daz3d.com. There are a lot of tutorials in the Communities: Tutorial Arcana section. If you join the Plat Club, there are tutorials in there as well. Hasta!

How to start in poser? That's easy! It's just a jump to the left ... (you bought the software) and then a step to the riiiiiiiiiight ... (renderosity) put your hands on your hips ... (search for tutorials, exchange emails with kind, knowledgeable users) and pull your knees in tight ... (just for fun LOL)
