Subject: will the clothes convertor convert Vicki clothes to fit preteen girl?

Hi, I saw the clothes convertor that is listed in the marketplace, and I was wondering if it will convert clothes for Vicki2 & 3 to fit the preteen girls, or will it not work for them? Has anyone tried the clothes convertor, and are you happy with it? I would like some feedback, before I purchase it and then find out that I have wasted my money on it.

It can convert almost all clothing to fit just about any figure, but most clothing needs to be "reshaped" to fit the figure you're converting it to, some video tutorials are included with the program's zip file to show you how to do this within Clothes Converter. Converting Vicki2 & 3 clothing to the millenium girls will require abit of work reshaping the clothing to fit well. However, if the clothing you're trying to convert has bones in it that aren't in the target figure (like body handles), these "extra" bones won't be converted with the rest of the clothing. So far, I am very happy with the program, and had very little trouble getting most clothing to fit other figures. It's a good purchase if you don't mind spending some time to get a perfect fit.

You can find the Clothes Converter by searching the Renderosity marketplace, or you can just click the above link to go strait to it's page :)

mao, how much work does it require to do a fit? In hours I mean. Say fitting a fairly standard dress from V3 to V2 or from V2 to PT or some such. :] Fish

Well, my first attempts (which was converter the DNAscape tank top from V2 to V3) took an hour total, but that was 3 tries because it was the very first time I'd used the program. I'd say probably around half an hour or less once I get use to the interface and process.

I've had some outfits take 3 minutes to convert, others take well over an hour. It depends on what you're fitting, to whom, and how picky you are on the results. Fitting M3 clothing to V3 is pretty easy. I haven't had time to try the other way around yet. Something I learned the hard way - if you are fitting an overcoat to a character, don't make it just barely fit over the new character - make it a little roomy so you can put other clothing underneath it - unless your character is a flasher! ;-)

I just picked up Mark's utility; looks very spartan (which tends to be the more powerful apps, in my experience... :P ), but well behaved. Has anyone tried the conversion process with Dina and Natalia, and if so, are there any particular 'gotcha's!' to watch out for? Those ladies need some new duds...and a little more attention, as they are both wonderful meshes (not to mention -not- looking like Posetted and Vickie without massive morphing....).

Once you get the hang of the program, conversions usually range from a few minutes to an hour or two. From my experience, V3 to V2 conversions are fairly quick and simple, but conversions such as V2 to PT need alot of reshaping to fit right, and can range from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of clothing being converted and how well you want it to fit the target figure.

How does this product differ from the Tailor? Anyone use both? Just wondering. Thank you!

I just love the program. Nothing like pulling out the old stuff to use on the new figures or the other way around. Tailor just adds the morphs of a figure to the clothes. Cloth Converter fits the clothes to other base figures. The two together work well.
