yeah, I remember seeing a free character like that, 3d Gladiators used to have it (along with Janeway, Data, and Picard) back in the day..wonder if Animotions has that stuff..;)
I think her head (Marina Sirtis) is a little shorter, and depending on what season, she got promoted to Lt. Commander..;) (Just one more pip on the collar, and yes, I watch way too much Star Trek)..looks pretty dang good no matter who it's supposed to be..

Not really. She became lt. cmdr in that season 7 episode (Thine own self) where Data was away after that radioactive thingie, but since she's a science officer, she would still wear blue. Just like Dr Crusher does when she's in command. (gawd am I showing my degree of trekkieness...?)

yup..even in the 2-parter about Picard being captured by the Cardassians, when she went to a standard uniform, it was blue..dang, I watch way to much TNG...;) I think it's only been red in the various 'alternate future' episodes..

Her brows need to be a bit more arched and a little more thin, and the lacrimal portion of her eye needs to come inward a bit. Her ear lobes need to stick out a bit farther (use attatch in the negative) and perhaps she needs a bit more in the way of cheekbones. :) Didn't Deanna end up, in the latest movie... (nemesis spoiler) moving to another ship to become the second in command there? I know it didn't happen on camera, but it was certainly implied...

Looks good, though....her eyes have black irises, as far as I remember she and Majel Barret-Roddenberry (who played her mother) wore black contacts....;-)

Oddly enough, depending on your point of view, Star Fleet uses old fashioned regulation departmental designation by color for uniforms. When I was in the U.S. Navy long ago we had just escaped the period where if you worked above deck you wore a white hat and if you worked below deck you wore a black hat (didn't show the grease and grime), and all the strips on the uniforms that showed rank were by color: Red for Engineering, White for Deck, Blue for Naval Command, etc.

Nope, Troi never wore red. She wore a blue "space cheerleader" outfit for the first few episodes of Next Generation (which was an t-shirt style top, short skirt, and boots.) After a few episodes, she changed into the onepiece jumpsuit. Since she is the ship's counselor and technically outside of the command chain, she didn't have to wear a standard uniform. During the 2-part episode, "Chain of Command", Captain Jellico (Ronny Cox) had her wear the standard uniform, but she was still in blue. After that episode, she changed back into the jumpsuit. In the 7th season, she finally wore the regular uniform... and looked a lot better. :) In Star Trek: Generations, she wore the Next Generation-style uniform, not the new Deep Space Nine/ Voyager version. In First Contact, Insurrection, the "Star Trek: Voyager" episodes, and Nemesis, she wore the standard black-with-gray shoulders uniform. And in Nemesis, she was transferred to another ship, but I don't know if it was stated that she would be the first officer. In that case, though, she would probably change into a red uniform... or in this case, a uniform with red trim. (This doesn't count her civilian, casual, or "blend in with local alien population" clothing.) During the 2-part episode, "Redemption", Data wore red when he was given temporary command of another ship. When Picard was believed to be dead during the 2-part episode, "Gambit", Data was promoted to first officer. But, he continued to wear the gold uniform... even though all first officers normally wear red. For the first season of Next Generation, Worf wore a red uniform, but changed to gold after becoming head of security after Tasha Yar was killed in "Skin of Evil". He is the only Starfleet officer (that we know of) to wear a sash over his uniform. Any other questions? :-)

luna, check the latest picture in my gallery to see the WW clone with a morphed facial expression. Most of the pics I've posted so far are just test comps so I havent put the time into facial expressions. I admit that Jeri's bust might be a little extreme, she has a very unusual figure and I was trying to capture that. Of course, all figures have their limits and V2 breast morphs can be tricky when you go large.

Zarabanda, the pic of Jeri you have on your site looks a great deal more like her than the one you showed us, here, even if her breasts are beyond weird. Something you need to worry about is lighting, because of the way her forehead has that excess shine. Also, while your face is close, it doesn't, I'd wager, resemble Jeri without the texture on it. If you /really/ want it to look like her, you need to bring the eyebrows up and alter the lip shape/jaw line some more to give it that 'I've had so much surgery nothing I have is real' look. Definitely recognizable as her, though.

Cedarwolf, the naval references in Star Trek was actually a deliberate choise Gene Roddenberry made back in the 1960's when he made up the original Star Trek. He wanted it to be new, yet familiar, and since it was a star SHIP, and Star FLEET, he decided to keep as many naval references as possible :o) Including the various colours and ranks :o)

Khrys, thanks for the input. These figures are all WIPs, they're far from perfect but the bottom line is Im satisfied with the results. The face could def use some further morphing, but Im not sure if your standard "it doesn't, I'd wager, resemble Jeri without the texture on it." applies. If you removed the skin from somebody's face, would they still look like themselves? :)

laughs The real trick is to get a recognizable look without actually using that person's face as a texture, because, let's face it. Jeri Ryan isn't likely to submit hundreds of photos from different angles for her face texture. But, in the end, you're right. So long as you're happy with it, who cares? :)

Khrys, I am happy with my work but I also want to share it with other people and from the huge volume of positive feedback I've received I think its worth my while. People love and identify with certain characters and they remain in our minds long after their time has passed (long enough even for some of them to make a comeback). I'm just trying to recreate a little bit of that magic we've all experienced, like when Linda Carter strapped on a Wonder Woman suit in the late '70s. Heck, at this point Deanna Troi is even ancient news. Seven of Nine is now teaching High school in Boston. lol. Time moves on but we still hold these characters dear to us and so their fame ends and the legend begins. I guess I'm in the minority here because I don't think dial twiddling can really lead to a true clone. You need an image of the original person's face for reference and as the basis for a texture. This is done all the time in high end apps like Maya and 3D studio max, often with stunning results. What a lot of people don't understand is that the mesh must conform to the texture and not vice versa, as is always the case in pre-fab poser figures.
