Subject: Female body hair

This is rather embarassing, but I'm looking for some Vicky or Vicky 3 textures that are somewhat hairier than normal. This is for some "primitive" or "tribal" scenes; there are plenty of body hair textures for Mike with abundant body hair, but none for the Vickies. Failing some actual textures, does anybody know of some good tutorials for adding realistic body hair? Thanks!

agh! yuck! but its "fashionable" in France though....i mean, women with hairy pits......thank god i live in good ol United States of America! as James Brown the Godfather of Soul said "....LIIIIVING IN AMEERICAA!! HAAAY!!!" =) sory bout that....i dont know what just hapened there... =) agh.....i just checked my bookmarks....i dont have that link anymore with the high res textures with optional hair for women. its from a website called Winscape 2001 or something like that. maybe someone else here can post it for you. i also downloaded a "hair" brush plug-in for photoshop but dont have the link anymore.

yeah... normally, I'm not fond of hairy pits and so forth, but I've got this scene stuck in my mind that really won't work unless the women are fairly hairy. Damn the muse, anyway! Thanks!

There ARE the Trogs at Daz, but they may be TOO hairy for your needs. Have you considered a M3 texture applied to V3.. It should give her more hair.. But it may look pretty freaky L

BTW I see no embarrasing things in asking for a NATURAL texture. We're not supposed to wax or shave or whatever originally :o) Yes I DO shave certain places myself, but.. I don't see anything icky in normal body hair. I prefer bearded males too. With "fur" G

Well, I didn't want to sound like I have a hair fetish or anything, but I have this one scene or series of scenes that I want to do, where the shaven look would just look too artificial. The trogs ARE great, but you're right, too hairy (though I've used them in other pics). Thanks! Guy I have a beard myself, BTW ;-)

ghoyle1; If you have the universal texture converter by Dark Whisper, here's an idea; find a M2 or M3 texture that has the density of leg hair you think would fit, convert it to the Vickie model you are using, then take it into Photoshop or PSP and cut and paste the legs onto the Vickie texture. Aside from the pubic region, with a possible 'treasure trail' up to the navel, the underarms, legs, and forearms are the areas where women tend to have discernable bodyhair, so the forearms and legs are your target areas for texture combining. There are several pubic hair props out there in the freebies, with enough control over the scaling to let you thicken up whatever might be on the original texture. There was a thread a couple of weeks back about adapting a transmapped armpit hair prop (that looked rather well done) to Vickie, you might want to check that out. And I know what you mean... I've probably lost half the enamel off my teeth on every image of someone coming out of a dungeon, or off of a long trek, with a body wax. It's the same with feet; you hardly ever see anyone take into account the fact that they get dirty, like anything else that scuffs along the ground. And explaining your comment without sounding like a fetishist is...interesting, sometimes.... :

Winscape 2001: http://home.online.no/~kjellil/Index-AllStuff.htm But i dont have any V3 textures, but you could do some copy and pasteing to move them over to a V3 texture, or you could use one of your Mike textures as a source for the hair. Staale

Those are a lot of great suggestions; I can't wait to try them out! Thanks, everybody. Guy

ernyoka1 I nearly spat my tea on my keys LOL. fur LOL. as for body hair I wonder the same thing....all the woman warriors with perfect brazillian wazes...must be great. pedicures,,,after all dont you know woman prefer to do dangerouse life threatening battle with out breast bare and glammed up. as for body hair. instead of doing the WHOLE texture coverted..why not just clip clip snip snip mikes privates{ok guys stop cringing now} and do a nice blend job and set in on vickies privates? you would need to tweek them{somehow that just sounds so x rated] but then you could be sure to get the ...er....petals right and the shape and skin tone matching.

For a second there you were getting a bit TOO amazonian G The long nails and stuff.. well it's not much different from an average Hollywood movie where the female "hero" wakes up with perfect makeup and nicely brushed hair... Whenever I've went to bed with my makeup on (I don't USUALLY wear that, so WHEN I do, I tend to forget) I look like a traffic accident in my face the day after... it sure doesn't look like you see it in movies L

why not try dynamic hair? but can you make curly armpit hair for V3? hmm.......i gotta try it myself.....i think its possible....

ghoyle1 ( ) posted Sat, 27 March 2004 at 8:16 PM

Let me know what the results are; I haven't been brave enough to try the Hair Room before.

Dale B ( ) posted Sat, 27 March 2004 at 8:47 PM

You might want to look into making a 'pit cap' for the area that conforms or parents with a few more polys than the actual model has there. The hair only grows out of the vertex points, after all.....

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 12:02 AM

Funny that you should mention that. I was down at CuriousLabs one fine afternoon looking at Poser 5 while it was still in development. LawnDartLawnDart was showing me Judy. Genitals. Good. Hair growing. Good. So I asked about armpit hair, and he so charmingly oblidged. It wasn't quite down to her knees but it was a very bright noticeable yellow. Only took him a minute or so to grab and group the polys and rev up the hair machine. I hope he doesn't make his own pasta. ;^) So, yes, it is possible to get armpit hair by growing it. Doing a subtle job with the hairs growing outwards and curling slightly will take refinement and tweaking. I'd suggest making two groups for each armpit, divided along "the fold line". As a naturally hairy woman, I can attest that we do have hair everywhere, including backs of hands and knuckles, but it is usually invisibly fine. It shows most in the pubic and armpit areas, with second-most-obvious growth on lower legs and forearms, and occasionally moustaches. (Being blond, I do not have a moustache, which is a great pity. I'd like to twirl one.) For good examples of extra hairy growth, you might check out the various museum exhibits displaying Cro Magnon and Neandertal families, so that you have a sense of the direction you want your hair to grow in for each body part. hmmm....if women have finer body hair than men then WHY o WHY did God not go the whole 1 inch and take em ALL OFF? well head hair, eyelashes and eyebrows are fine. a cruel joke? ;)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 12:58 AM

No... a cruel joke is shivering in the cold because our fur isn't long enough to insulate. I do wonder at these guys who think that furry animals are sexy (bunnies in bikinis, foxes draped over motorcycles), but shudder if a lady doesn't shave her legs. 🤷 Carolly

numanoid ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 1:03 AM

"The hair only grows out of the vertex points, after all..... " No, the guide hairs grow out of the vertex points, but you can set the density for the actual hair. No need to add polygons to any area where you want to grow hair.

Dale B ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 6:02 AM

I knew that..... Duuuuh.... And I have to agree, Carolly. Most men never learn just how much...fun...you can have with all those icky body hairs with all those sensitive nerves attached to the back ends of them.... O:)

DaleB said " You might want to look into making a 'pit cap' for the area that conforms or parents " About two years ago, the Delphi Bryce Forum had a (prolonged and riotous) discusion about this. There is a real-life object called a merkin which serves this purpose. For those who want a little silliness, here's the link to that discussion. In the course of our discussion, there were also some serious Poser answers for the person who asked. But these were well before Poser 5 came along, so the hair growth is probably the best approach currently.

"its "fashionable" in France though....i mean, women with hairy pits" Not at all. My wife always complains that it ain't so, however...

biggert ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 11:51 AM

if i was bill gates i would just buy say Australia and make it MY country.....with me as SULTAN.....Mandatory waxing for ALL females young and old will be conducted every 3 days.....all PAID FOR by your Govment (thats me).... my countrys main export is waxing service! i would copy the japanese technique of offering Top Quality products (in this case my product is a service)!!! then the hair collected (imagine all that!) will be refined and used to make wolly blankets and socks for secondary export.....i'll beat Wal Mart prices anytime!! a pair will go for a mere 99 cents! and since its made with tough fibers it will last forever!!! third Export item: the hair collected will also be used to make "space age" tupes (male wigs)....IT WILL COME WITH A CHINSTRAP.....this will BE ABLE TO REPEL ANYTHING: 1. RAIN 2. SNOW 3. HAIL 4. DUST 5. AND YOUNG WOMEN id love to be bill gates

What are you smoking these days, biggert ? :D

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 4:46 PM

biggert, Have you waxed your balls yet? Twice? Until YOU wax your private places, and keep them waxed, you might want to refrain from advocating mandatory waxing for others. Of course, the male/female ratio would be apt to swing even more lopsidedly in Australia under your rule, and a woman willing to suffer constant waxing might have her choice of hundreds of men. ;) Carolly

biggert ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 5:08 PM

some reason my instinct tells me that a man must NEVER wax or shave down there......unless of course hes Mandingo the Pornstar......then thats a different case.... it feels wrong to do such a thing.........so i just cut of at random when the bush gets too thick that my briefs feel tight .....it felt itchy afterwards.....i just did that btw cause i had a physical the next day........poor doc about the women in MY country.......they will not have any choice of men....why? cause I am SULTAN! everything will be about me! me! ME!! MEEEE!!!! ok...i didnt know what just happened there........

mondoxjake ( ) posted Sun, 28 March 2004 at 8:40 PM
