Hello All. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. I created a set for my characters to pose in using BeyondBent's SFCS. This uses modular props to create floors, walls, and ceilings. My question is this: after I have created a setting, how can I lock the pieces into place so that I do not accidently select and move them?

  2. If I use ctrl-H to Hide and object, how can I make it visible again? If I use the hierarcy editor to hide it, I just click the eyeball icon to bring it back. But this will not make something visible that was hidden with ctrl-H.

  3. In Poser 4, when I try the Help feature, I get nothing. Are there online help files in Poser 4 and how can I see them?

  1. On the main menu, Object/Lock Actor. (Or you can edit the PZ3, changing every 'locked 0' line to 'locked 1'.) 2. Ctrl-H only works one way. Sorry. I always use the eyeballs. 3. There should be a couple of PDF files in the same folder with Poser.exe. If you moved them somewhere else, the help won't work.

For 2 - does the "Show All Figures" menu selection work for this as well? You might give it a try. I think that one is on the "Figure" menu.

Show all figures should work. The problem is it really shows all figures. If you have others hidden, they become visible, too, and you have to hide them again if you don't want to see them.

#1. You can use Lock Actor as described by Ockham, but I offten find that I have to lock and then unlock several parts to make adjustments, then lock them again. In these circumstances I parent all the parts of the set to Minimal Figure (one that has no or very little geometry). Once all the parts are parented locking this Minimal Figure (Figure > Lock Figure) will also lock all the props attached to it. I can also move, scale, rotate, or delete, all the props as a unit by performing these actions on the the figures body actor. You can make a Minimal Figure by using the Hierachie Editor to convert a Poser SQUARE prop into a figure, then load the new figure, hide the 'square_1:1' actor and resave the figure to a pallet. A variation on this idea is to use a text editor to completly remove the square_1 actor from the file leaving only the BODY actor.
