Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 26 2:05 pm)
looking good, Ive thought of having a go at this myself a few times, thought the pins would be a pain (in more ways than one) just one thing, I dont remember pinhead waring a cape, I thought it was a long dress type thing? I've got a book 'the Hellraiser cronicles' with some good pics in. of course there could be another version I'm not aware thats not in the book.
No, it wasn't a cape. It was more like long tuxedo tails that went down almost to the ground. I'm not a modeler and have never made clothes. So I made a primitive cylinder in UV Mapper and imported it into Poser5 welding the seams to get rid of the the hard edge. I then textured and transmapped the cylinder. It looked better as a cape than as tails at 3:00AM in the morning so I left it at that to get some more opinions. I don't try to do exact duplications when I do characters like this, I like to take artistic license and do what looks good even if it isn't 100% from the original. The biggest problem with his face is that I created the Pinhead Prop before I finished completely working on his head and I still need to make his head more bulbous and rounder. 150 pins placed on the grid took almost two days to place and smart prop. I'm not done yet, like PinHead said, "I have such wonderful things to show you!" Thanks again for all your comments and please keep them coming. I posted him incomplete because I wanted feedback.
wow, pretty good! yes the face needs to be slimmed down a bit, and the tails, if i remeber the first film, it was a long coat type thing he was wearing, damn i should know i watch it some manys times a week! your doin well on this, would love to see what you do with the other "synobites"
In the words of DarkStarRising:
"Sadness within sadness,
Darkness within darkness,
a shadow of a form lays upon the floor,
looking at herself
looking at her own shadows of loneliness"
I went ahead and attached it to his hip and played with the transmap a bit, saved as a separate prop. I started working on Princess today just finished the facial morphs after 6 hours! 2 of those hours were playing with head magnets to get the roundness of the head and the raised portions of the temples, brows, and eyesocket edges. Now I know what I should have done with PinHead before mapping out the pins and propping it. But, I never had intended for this to go this far! I just thought the character I had created looked enough like PinHead that I'd play a bit. Next thing I know I'm hooked on these. Geez, I haven't even finished the RiffRaff yet or started on Magenta! Oh well, so goes the life of a obsessive compulsive. Thanks again for all your comments I appreciate them!
