Are you working on this from the standpoint that you want to do the entire texture yourself? What I mean is, I've heard that some texture creators do half of the tex, and then the other half is just a mirror of the work done. This has the benefit of lowering the time needed, but you still obviously want to put in those imperfections that on the mirrored side that differentiate the tex there from the side you originally finished. Also, I assume you are using at least SnowSultan's seam guides - those are a gigantic help in avoiding seam problems. And remember that the artist is always the worst critic of their work - perhaps you could post a pic of a figure with your texture applied so that the forum might help? Later, Jack

The quality of your source material is really important. I'm following along the one at RDNA and I've bought a subsription to www.3d.sk - good value for money in my book. Trying to texture from a low res photo is just a recipe for tearing your hair out ;-)

I removed the link from "The3dZone" as it had his user id in the link. Please feel free to re-upload the link without the user id. Spike

By the way I was trying to do this one on my own lol and you can see a seam on his nose ext ext but I'm trying! Thanks guys! RitaAttached Link: http://www.runtimedna.com/

A classic texture tutorial is the one from cake one! I prefer using photos and then paint them over where needed, I don't always make the symmetric trick because I think this way textures are more natural... As for the body textures most times I make them by hand using dodge and burn in photoshop,I find it very difficult to match various body photos...This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. ....I've been working on a texture for the better part of the last 24 hours. Nothing fancy. No Tattoos, no high decoration. Just trying to make a texture from a photograph. It looks easier than painting one from scratch. Nope. Even though I started out with a photographic texture, I ended up painting over the whole thing. And, on top of that, it looks like crap. Short of buying BTSculptor's tutorial (which I'm gonna as soon as I get some extra cash), I think I'm screwed....how do you guys that do textures have the patience to do this? sigh Sorry, just frustrated...and I want to use my own work for a change...
