Subject: Texturing Question - Tiled texture to Untiled texture

Hi I have a commerial architecural poser character which uses tiled textures. I wish to use my own texture on this model and was wondering what is needed to allow me to apply a texture so that it doesn't tile. I am using Poser Pro Pack. TIA. Richard Taylor

If the object is built so that every texture you apply ends up tiling then you get get UvMapper from www.uvmapper.com and remap it. Not sure if that answers it.

Couple of tips - UVMapper will load a PP2 file with embedded geometry, if that's what you have - just drag-and-drop your file onto the UVM window. If your prop has separate materials defined for the tiled parts, you can use Edit > Select > by Material... to isolate them and remap each part one by one.

Coupla more tips. It's easy to spot tiled obj files because, when you open one, uv mapper will tell you it has out of range uv coordinates. Don't correct them, just let it load and do it yourself. The tiled material will be outside the uv mapper 'frame'. What you have to do is select it, then shrink it. You can do this by either pressing the / key on numpad, or by pressing SHIFT-minus (the minus key on the numpad). Shrink it until it's inside the screen area, then save the obj (maybe with a new name). mac PS I also make architectural models and I avoid tiled textures like the plague.
