I was looking around for a modern style barn and didn't find what I was looking for so I made my own. Right now it's a Cinema file since that's where the animation is going to be rendered. This will be a freebie (available at my site) once I get the animation I'm working on done. I probably should make it into a figure for Poser. It would be easier to use in Poser as a figure instead of a prop. Any comments or suggestions of things to add. I've got water buckets and the feeders done, but they're not in the pics yet. I also did some hay bales.

Edw, will it be possible to "rearrange" the stalls, slide the stall doors, having feeders as separate objects?
Can it be used in comercial renders?

Thanks for all the comments. I'm really kinda surprised there is this much interest in something like this. I like the idea of the naked Vickie in the barn with a pitchfork.:) Anyway, here are a few more pics.. a closeup of the stalls, the feeders and water buckets. To answer a few of the questions. The only restriction on a model or figure that I offer as a freebie is that it can't be redistributed without my permission. They are free to use any way you wish otherwise. The stalls are separate pieces... All the stall doors open. The feeders and water buckets are all separate objects. This style of a building doesn't have windows.... kind of pointless IMO when there are three doors and an alleyway in the building. Ed

Looks really great in C4D, but all those small rounded surfaces are gonna translate into a gazillion polygons when converted to mesh. Still... it sure is BEAUTIFUL!

EXCELLENT, Ed! Not too many people would think to leave the smoothing to Poser (which it does quite well) Good to see that you can control the mesh conversion in C4D - I'd like to see more people manage their meshes this well! Now I can really hardly wait for the final model!!

Looks very, very good! Things you may want to add: muck rake and place to hang it, and some pegs on a wall for hanging tack, lead ropes, and such.

Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of the building and stalls in Poser. There's no textures, just some colors on these. The building is a prop with moveable doors. The stall front is a figure. There is a right open and a left open door figure. The stall divider is a prop. I only put one stall in the pic. I'll leave some of the work to you guys as far as placing and number of stalls :) I should have this ready and one my site sometime this evening. Ed

Stone? Brick? It would wash clean and wouldn't buckle under moisture.

the stalls would be dirt with straw or wood shavings bedding - a mare with a foal would get straw; horses shouldn't be housed on concrete or brick or asphalt etc., very bad for legs/feet (like seriously bad)

the aisles would be either dirt, concrete or brick - all the large barns I've ever seen were any of the above -

The barn and stalls are available at my site. I didn't put all the stalls together for you:) gotta leave something for you to do... @movida... This is actually what my own barn looks like.. we used wood chips almost exclusively for bedding... easier to clean up and dispose of than straw:)
