Hi...I have seen discussions about this around here. I import this obj. and here is how it looks. How do I bring back a square look to these unnatural bulgy faces? Thanks in advance

uncheck smoothing. You didn't mention Poser version, but poser 5 is notorious for the ballooned effect on objects, unchecking smoothing usually takes care of it. Unless the object is actually modeled that way (sometimes they are).

That isn't a result of P5's polygon smoothing function. That is the product of auto-shading found in ALL versions of Poser. The vertices need to be split to obtain the hard edged, flat surfaced appearance.

UV Mapper "classic" (for free) will handle that, but it will split ALL vertices, including the center columns I assume you desire to retain a smooth look.

UV Mapper Pro will allow you to select the "cut-off" angle. Any adjoining polygons less than your select number will remain smooth; any adjoining polygons with a greater angular degree will have sharp edges and a flat appearance.

The only "negative" about "Pro" is that you pay for it. But in the long run, it justifies itself.

Sincerely,

Bill

If this is not a commercial item with a restrictive EULA, maybe you can send me the file and I can "tweak" it for you. Sincerely, Bill
