what did you have to cheat with? I was just wondering in case there might have been a better way to do this.

The eyes were a horrible mess for me. I tried every piece of advice that I came across and nothing worked so I just painted them in Paint Shop Pro 7. I'm upset by it as he had the cutest eyes and mine are horrid in comparison. Kristta

Kristta, here's a screenshot of the material room with the eyes selected (I assume you're using P5). Does your settings differ in any way? Check that the Texture Strength is at 100%

Well, if it's a Bryce render, that would explain the problems with the eyes...

xantor ( ) posted Fri, 18 June 2004 at 2:16 PM

Kristta you could render the background in bryce and import it to poser and then render it and the puppy.

Kristta ( ) posted Fri, 18 June 2004 at 2:16 PM

I tried that and on import to Bryce it didn't seem to matter. I tried making the biggest eye part transparent in Bryce and then it looked like the whole skin of the dog was mapped to the rest of the eye. I'm thinking I've done something wierd to the poor baby. Kristta

xantor, Will the whole scene render in Poser? I thought about trying that but was a little scared of it. Didn't want to blow it up too bad. What do you save the scene as? jpeg? Will it look like the puppy is standing in the sand? I have lighting trouble too. This was literally my first Poser anything so I am still learning.

maxxxmodelz ( ) posted Fri, 18 June 2004 at 2:20 PM

I think what xantor means is... render the scene WITHOUT the dog in Bryce. Then save as a BMP or whatever file format. Then use that render as a background in Poser. You won't have the problem with the eyes in Poser.

Will it look like the puppy is standing in the sand? You can import the render from Bryce as a JPG, and then create a ground plane under the puppy in Poser. Assuming you have Poser 5, you can use Stewer's "mat" material to make the ground transparent, but still recieve shadows. With proper lighting, it would work well.

I'm going to try the Bryce to Poser thing with my next scene. Very cool idea. I already printed the card with the puppy on it for my friend. Kristta

I like the screen shot, with the cute puppy, and the blood, slime and more blood materials available. Excuse me now as I fall on the floor laughing my ass off! :O)

The cute puppy was for my best friend and her 6 year old son (my God Son) so I left the blood mats off. Kristta

the trick is to get the outermost layer of the eyeball transparent (like the first mat in the Glass category), then map the inner parts with another mat or two..(I think) Wolfie's Den has a set of lego mats out there that are very shiny, and fundamental colors..I use lego black for the pupils a lot..if you ctrl+mouse click on the eyball, all parts of the eye will be listed, and you can cycle through them this way. Already left a message on your pic about the 'eye' mat..sorry about all the Bryce stuff, folks, but I'm much better at it than Poser..on a relative scale (Geeps?..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit
