Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 20 7:20 am)
You don't mention what version of Poser you're using. Have you visited the Creative Labs site and downloaded/installed all the updates for your version? Poser out-of-the-box does have numerous "issues", but with the updates available, most users here have reported P4, PPP (P4+ProPak), and P5 to be pretty stable on a stable machine. Graphics programs as a whole are pretty resource-intensive, and a lower-powered or unstable computer can suffer a bit under the load.

In addition, assuming "affordable cost" is around the 200 dollar range, there are none. Possibly Carrara, but it's pricier. Then you have Cinema4D, Lightwave, 3DSMax, et. al. The attached RTF file includes notes on setting up the Poser in Windows XP, including adjustments to virtual memory.thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. I am starting to get pretty upset with poser. In my opinion it is unstable and constantly malfuntions on my computer and has become a waste of money. First the morph dials dissapear, they show that they are on and yet they are nowhere to be found. Then without any good reason i get a parse error of some kind and now the program will not even open. How many time do I need to reinstall this piece of crap program. I am really fascinated by 3d art and desperately want to do something good with it. Can anyone tell me about other 3d programs that do what poser does at affordable costs?
