Hi there,

just a short note, the boys at imancom.com try to lure people into sending photo's and money for restoration beyond belief! Just look at the examples!

At least half of the examples are fake (i.e. reversed, they just degraded the original image as a 'before' image, look here ) and even worse, they send out bulk spam mail to get clients.

A lot of us can do what they do (for less or for free it it is for someone in our family or friends) but the miracles they show can never be achieved.

If you read their terms you can not hold them responsible for anything, because they can always explain you was not clear enough. Ofcourse I did not try this 'service' but I hope everybody here will tell people who ask them that sending your photos to a vague online image manipulation shop is not a good idea at all. Especially if you have to pay in advance. I do not like people manipulating my image (as a photoshop professional myself). Spread the word!

It honestly looks like someone took a Photoshop I course somewhere and is trying to make money off it. I always kinda wondered if there was anyone out there taking a perfectly fine photo and degrading it, but claiming that it has been fixed. Now I know.

I think it's just someone starting out and didn't have any examples? I don't know but people have got to start somewhere. Unless he's lying then BURN!!!!

If you look closely, I do think the person(s) have been claiming modified pictures as the before and the original picture as the after picture. Not all of their samples do this, but it's particularly apparent in the http://imancom.com/samples/color_change section. The people are fuzzy in the before, yet crystal clear in the after. Not even with Unsharp mask and sharpen, could I make them look that great afterwards. (I tried). Even the "background change" lower after picture looks a little suspect, when looking at the top picture that first loads on their homepage. I'm not trying to be mean or pick on anyone, this is just my opinion.

Check out the link here, and look at the middle picture..

The woman and little girl are dressed in winter wear, and the man who was 'supposedly' removed is in a t-shirt and carrying a cooler..looks more like he is dressed for summer to me..

What I figure is, is that the woman and little girl was 'pasted' into the before image.. {or something..regardless something looks awfully funny about that image}

And yea, any of those images can be done in PSP or PS..alot of them can be done with scripting, and a good dose of smudge tools ~lol~
