You have probably got unwelded vertices. One solution is to open the OBJ in UVMapper and use the weld vertices tool. In the Lite version its under Edit/Tools. You can get UVMapper at the link.Other reasons could be that you have the mesh incorrectly grouped but I think in this case I'd try welding first.
Hope this helps.
I've looked at it in LW now. There are no unwelded points and the UV looks fine. I think the problem occur in Poser when you set up the groups. To avoid that: 1. Set up the groups in Lightwave instead (it's called "parts" in LW) before you export it to OBJ. 2. About the UV. In Lightwave, before you export to OBJ you will need to assign the UV-map to a surface (F5 to bring up the surface-editor), no need to select any image, just the UV.
the right way to set up groups is selecting all the polygons and giving them a name right so they become a new group right. then how do i delete the other group names. F5 wont bring up the surfice editor. what tab do I click. First time using the surfice editor. Ill be online for a while till I get this. Manuel(Nio) Ill be great once I learn this.
how do i fix this child to child problem philc, couse i dont know what child to parent is. or child to child. and mattias. when you said abdoman and hip group, wich you at least try to match. after i put the body in the back layer and dress in frot to highlight the abddomen and hip, the polygons highlighted all crucked. how di you highlight in color. and you told me i need to assign the uvmap to a sourfice. did you mean i should select the name group I called dress and press the T and then just click apply.
Actually "simplest" way to make the groups (parts) in your skirt match those in the mayadoll is this way: 1. Activate only the layer with the mayadoll. 2. Hit "w" (be sure to be in "polygon mode") and select a part (for example the Hip). 3. Click on the "view tab" and click "hide unselected". Now the only visible polygons will be those belonging to the Hip part. 4. Activate the layer with your skirt and keep the layer with the mayadoll as a "background layer". 5. Select the polygons in your skirt that matches the area in your background layer (the Hip) 6. Click "view tab" click "create part" and select the same name as the part in the background layer (in this case "Hip"). 7. Click "unhide" and start all over again with your next group (part).
Matties theres no view tab but theres a display tab and I found the hide and unhide tab there. but cant find the create part option. I took a screen shot so you can see. it might be named diffrent or is that a plug in option for the create part.
Manuel(Nio) I got the rest right but cant find that tab (Create part)
