Subject: Multiple Lights Problem

aodor ( ) posted Wed, 25 August 2004 at 7:20 PM · edited Sat, 27 July 2024 at 2:28 PM

If I set a scene (DAZ Studio 39)with the light setup provided with the pack, every time I click on one of the viewports, lights turn off or on depending on what item I click. All Lights have de visibility attribute to ON. How can I make D|S to keep all lights on all the time? Alberto Odor, MD Mexico City

It sounds like your problem is not the lights but the cameras, possibly some of the cameras are looking at the outside of a wall that is out side of the ighted area, try moving the cameras closer to the center of the scene and see if that clears up the problem. Casey_42, the Old Newbie

Generally, Poser lights do not work well in D|S - the approach is very different. Poser 5 using the Firefly render is similar, I believe, though P5 doesn't have point lights as D|S does.

I'll try moving the camera and/or replacing the lights. Thank you for your answers.

Generally when I import a scene from poser that includes lights and cameras the first thing I do is delete all the camers and a lot of times all the lights, the native cams in D|S are usually sufficient for anything I desire to do even though deleting the cams means I have to create a new default camera so I can tie a spotlight to it to act like a flash if I want one, and so I can control it with the dials. You are very welcome and I hope it works well for you, I assume you have found out that all lights need to be set at less than 100% illumination or your renders will be washed out. Casey_42, the Old Newbie EZ Duz it
