Yeah, the landscapes look good but how many landscape textures are going to be included with C4. If we have to make procedurals from scratch that's going to be tough! Vue gives plenty of stuff upfront & provides solid building blocks for experimentation. C3 has poor textures for it's trees within the plant generator & that was a new improved feature over C2. Will they help us out with a sophisticated series of texture maps or not? Will probably get both upgrades for Vue & Carrara, just hope my other half don't mind!!
I hope Eovia posts lots of tutorials and free downloadable (new) 3D content for Carrara. They want to have a cool web site, don't they? www.shonner.com

I wouldn't think that they would even try to compete with the dedicated apps, as that is not the focus of Carrara.
And I totally agreed with that.
Every 3 packages can do landsapes/atmospheres but it's a very long process as we all know.
I just would like to know if we could build a convincing landscapes/atmospheres with Carrera with few mouse clics (like Bryce or Vue).
Cheers

Yeah, hopefully they made it work as you say, because even with the improvements in C3, the landscapes still didn't look that great, not without a lot of effort... Well at least in comparison to Bryce or Vue. Personally I like using a dedicated scenery app (Vue is my favorite, but Mojoworld and Artmatic Voyager are also good fun too). But even though I have seen some awesome models created in Bryce and Vue, WOW these often take a long time to make. well I better start selling some of these Playstation 2 games so I can afford to buy both Vue5 and C4Pro! -Paul

Anyone who is frustrated by the lack of decent terrain abilities in Carrara might be interested in Vue 5 which now supports global illumination. Coming out in a months time. Will be able to fully intergrate work with both programs now. Carrara is superb for most my work, but it can't do a decent landscape. Rokol.
