Ilford? What model of digital camera do they make? Actually, even I admit it's a shame. I'm sure all of us have fond memories of our first attempts in the darkroom have a red-lit box of Ilford papers sitting in the corner.... (",) (ahem, okay, I feel better now - this years compassionate phase has just been and gone.)
Ah crap ... I missed this yesterday. Freaking lawyer-speak all over this, but if I read it right it sounds like they are restructuring their film division out the front door and going to only keep the divisions that deal with digital printing (their inkjet papers). This completely bites. Now I'll have to go and spend $100 for a little refrigerator and then pack it full of ID 3200. :/ This past week has been just crappy. Did I mention the leaking head gasket and cracked exhaust manifold in my car? sigh -=>Donald
That is, a couple of weeks ago. Though this sort of things can be a slow process. Note also that UK Law can use different terms to US Law on this sort of thing, and sometimes the same terms with different meaning. I don't know how well this compares to Chapter 11 in the USA, but there are some similarities.
I've sat and read through this again properly now that I'm not holding my eyes open with matchsticks; plainly put in British English, this means that coz the BW side is making a loss they want to sell it off so that someone can buy it and up the prices coz they've then got the Ilford name. I'd happily run down to the bookies and put a tenner on Jessops (photography shop chain) buying it, but hey, I'm an amateur ;-) Whatever happens, traditionalists using Ilford can expect to see a decent price hike in their stuff, imo...... Yeah I think my first paper was ilford. I think I still have it. Didn't keep it in the frig though. Did anyone else other than me notice the use of WHILST! as in. Whilst this process continues we will be talking to ILFORD Imagings major customers and suppliers to maintain their support through this restructuring and disposal process. Man you British know how to talk!!! I'm still learning how to conjugate thee, thou, and thine. Dost thou knowest WHILLEST I am preceding thus? Bsteph
Wherest, Brian, wherest. As in : "Wherest doth thou proceedeth, my jolly friend?" "To the East, Sire" "To die honourably in battle with thine kinsmen?" "Nay, Sire, to testeth thon tasty blonde wench stuck in yonder tower!" "And yet ye feel no shame in thine kinsmen dying at the blade while thou indulgeth so? Lord Ilford, thou art nothing but a worthless rogue!" "But sire, I haveth a vision whilst I dream. My greateth, greateth, greateth, greateth, greateth, greateth, greateth grandson will be an honourable man and maketh great fortune from a white parchment, which when mixed with devilry does createth visions from the past!" "Ah, well thou dost beareth good reason to go nesting, my fine fellow. Hasteth, and find pleasure in the loins of thon yonder maiden. Go forth and multiply!" And he did. (",) (",)
