Quite versatile though.

I hate to bring this up, but Drac's cube closely resembles an object I modeled a while back. I used it as the dice in the image at the link.

woah....that's sweet! How'd you do that???

Rayraz ( ) posted Fri, 01 October 2004 at 3:55 PM

Just made the objects colored, with luminance of 120, saturation of 120, and a matching hue setting. Applied the color to both diffuse and ambient channel. Set diffuse to 100, ambient to 25, then set specular halo to 100% white and reflection to 100. Now render with blurry reflections and voila! :D

oh, I added a render of some bryce volume cloud-like structures to it too, to dodge things just a little and add some more variety to the lighting.

Great model Drac!.. I tried one of the Beta-testing thingies for Bryce 6..converts a 3-dimensional model to 5 dimensions..I hope I'm not tesseracting out on ya..;) Note- image imperfections arise from portraying a 5-dimensional object in 3 dimensions..;)

Thanks drac, for starting this thread. It has been both entertaining, and educational. Rayraz, that mini-tut might just come in handy. :) Some NICE artwork in this thread. You folks should post this stuff to your galleries, so those that don't visit the forums that often can enjoy your images as well. :) Jay

**Just made the objects colored, with luminance of 120, saturation of 120, and a matching hue setting. ** Pardon me for being stupid, where are the luminance and saturation settings? Forget I spoke, I instantly found them lol. Posting this anyway in case anyone else has a problem with it. When setting a colour, Ctl/Alt+click rather than just clicking, then you'll get the 'better version' of the colour-picker.

AS: There's a BRYCE 6 ??? It has 5th dimensional conversions? How come I'm always the last to know?

LOL after all this joking of 5th dimensional conversion I think I might add that Mojoworld actually generates 4D data, this 4th dimension can be used for morphing objects over time to create billowing clouds for instance. So the idea of making things with more dimensions in future bryce versions might not really be all that stupid.
