Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 14 7:46 am)
I tried making a dude for the Anime Doll. The laughable results are plainly not worth pursuing.
Somebody?? Anybody with better modeling skills??? Please? Pretty please with sugar and icecream and even a juicy delicious cherry on top?!? I'm willing to -~>$ PAY $<~- good money for good male manga (er... that didn't sound quite right - but you get the idea).
Personally, I think the way to go is to use Crescent's pop-top tutorial and put either AD or A3 head on either M3 or David's body. That way, you have the support options for clothing and an anime head with which to morph into a more male looking figure. I reworked David's neck to line the seams up with the head, however, I am having difficulties loading the new pop-top A3/David hybrid.

I exported Aiko's head with the default settings, then applied the head as a morph target for David, then used Xena's magnet set and it worked great. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2022093 It's a lot easier than my Pop Top method since David's and Aiko's heads have the same number of vertices and mapping. Cheers!
TygerCub, I had the same exact problem and a kind soul - Sharen from Sams3D - took pity and gave me a workaround to the problem you're having. When you try to select or deselect and find that you can't just open the date and time properties box and then with that open try again and it will work! At least it does for Sharen and me, both in Poser 4 and Poser 5. I have no idea why :)
I thank you... and my morphed figures thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What bothers me so much about Daz's "Bishounen" is they don't know what the f*** a bishounen is. Bishounen mean 'pretty boys', which in the sense are the exact OPPOSITE of the muscular, masculine men that are included in the package.
In Manga (I study the artwork for this more then Anime, but the same applies for either ;) ), the head shape is generally always the same, but its the hair, eyesbrows, clothes, and (sometimes) eyes that define a male as a character.
I haven't yet played around with Aiko yet (though she does have promise), but if you give her a boyish hairstyle, thicker eyebrows (this can be done in texture maps too)and male clothing, she should be able to pull off a 'he' very nicely.
As said above, I don't know what morphs she has, but if you can narrow her eyes a little, and adjust them in general, it will look better. It's not a requirment (like DNAngel sports beautiful huge eyes, but you can still tell Daisuke is a boy), but it may be just what you need to be convincing.
Males are REALLY left out of Poser. There are hundreds and hundreds of clothing for females, and scarce few for males. It's all female hair, eyes, morphs, etc., when there are very little for males. It's no suprise that Millennium Girls came first, and I don't expect a male Aiko to be on his(?) way anytime soon. I really wish there was a good male anime character available. Then I can make my own anime as a 3d cartoon render. Mwahahaha.. EDIT: how could I forget? You'll also have to get rid of the boobs. ;)

It depends on the particular anime/manga series as to how the guys look. The high school aged ones look almost identical to the girls face-wise (like the characters in DNAngel), but the older males do resemble the Bishonen package more. Look at "Decendents of Darkness" or "Pet Shop or Horrors" characters, for example, to see what I mean. And if you open up the genre to include manhwa for example (Korean style manga such as "Model") then the range of looks is even larger. Cheers!

I'm searching for a male manga/anime character. There are some surgical morphs to transform females into males, but those have next to no support or addons.
Is anyone working on an original manga male figure, which might generate some support from other vendors?
You know what is right for you. I know what is right for me.
