Has anyone here bought the Damian map for Michael? I'm having a problem with the body texture part of it. It's wrinkled and really looks bad. Anyone know of a workaround? I got him a while ago and just checked it out today. I have checked and rechecked to see if I have something loaded wrong. Any ideas? Marque

E-mail the author about it is all I can suggest.

I bought it and it works fine here - I think he's just hairy g what resolution are you running your monitor at? Try 1280x1024 if you can and 24bit color

I got Damian too but did play too much with him yet. When I look at your image, I do not see what is wrong. What wrinkled mean? Sorry I am french. Claude

I got it and I like it. I did have to turn down the bump map on the body; also turn down the texture a little and you will see some variations...

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2000 at 5:24 PM

That might be it, thanks Lorraine. Marque

How do you turn down a texture and bump map?

kevinchn ( ) posted Sun, 17 December 2000 at 7:04 PM

I bought the Damian map and I think mine looks weirder. The bump map on the lips don't seem to match the texture map.

Thanks, I thought it was just me. I think it's time to start making my own now that I'm finding fault in others. 8^) I turned down the bump map on the body and the head and it still looks bad to me, just won't use that one. Marque

What I see on this image is wrong using of bump maps, you must use also the anti-alias for the rendering the maps are made for users that made a images with big format min 800x600 if you create a small image it will not working corect. If you still have problems with the body don't not use the bump map with 100% only with 50%, you are the first person that have problems with the maps. Wish you much succes with your rendering and if you have any problems just e-mail me to cathrin@worldonline.nl .

I don't see any problems with it?

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 18 December 2000 at 6:04 PM

Thanks for getting back to me, I'll try that. But one other person did complain if you look above kevinchn is also having a problem. Marque

Lorraine ( ) posted Tue, 19 December 2000 at 1:41 AM

The bump maps and the texture maps can be adjusted using the little slider bar under the little menu where you choose the name of the file. I think it just takes a little practice and the maps come out very nice. I liked this map particularly ...also fool around with the lighting and the other settings on the render material options

Thanks for the help, that's why I came here first so I could maybe find some workarounds before emailing the creator. I was not complaining about the product, only trying to find out how to get it to look better. 8^) Marque
