Subject: How to add a face morph

kruse ( ) posted Sat, 25 December 2004 at 3:58 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 8:41 PM

Hi all,

we tried to add another face morph. We had choosen P5-Judy for this try.
What we did:

  • exported Judies-head (as morph)
  • made transformings in RDS 5.02
  • saved as *.obj
  • added this morph in Poser 5 (here head)

We tried this morph. It's working fine, but the whole head is becoming distorted by using this morph. Funny thing, because the eyes are not moving and the nose is squeezed.

Any ideas, what we made wrong? Any ideas how to manage it?

Thank's in advance

Have a nice day

Before exporting did you make sure Judy was zeroed? Windows>Joint parameters, zero figure. I can't remember if you have to include or exclude the eyes when you export.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Was there other morphs active on the head you exported? I am not sure what you mean but if you exported the head with dials active, then those morphs are distorting the head and squeezing the nose? Merry Xmas, Anton

Could you show a picture of judy with the morph applied?

First remove the IK for the R and L legs> Then zero the figure in the joint parameters. Check that the hip is at x 0000 and y 0000. then check that the body is at x 0000 and y 0000. Then save the group you want to morph as a morph obj> Then I take the free anim8or and play with it. Works every time

Hi all,

thank's a million, problem is solved now.
We found out the reason for this problem with your help. First we forgot to mention this Judie was modified in faceroom. So we checked the nose and found values above zero. After we set all dials to zero, the nose wasn't distorted anymore. Also after we set Judies joints to zero, the head wasn't moving forward by using the dials.

Have a nice day and thank's again
