Just my kind of person...go for the compexity right outta the box. My respects. First, where did the props come from..did you make the props and import them? Second, you have an interesting 'depth of field' issue in this scene. Some of the closer 'output plugs' are out of focus. That may be your intention. May I ask at what focal length you are shooting? Or... you may have turned on motion blur with intent to produce this effect to convey movement. Please comment. Also, what color are your lights? Another way of putting it is...what skin tone do you intend? Is the variation in tone deliberate? If not, post back and some people will make further comments about it. Very ambitious and a great, intriguing first scene! ::::: Opera ::::: P.S. Hi there Operaguy, Thanks for your comments. I will answer your questions. Here goes. Props: The props I found under the R'Osity free stuff section. All I did was, installed the props and inserted them into the scene, that's all. One day, when i have more time, I will create my own props. This render was just a test on how well my computer could handle the render. Depth of Field: I used the default DOF in Poser 5, that's all. No motion blur was used, but I thought of using it. Lighting: I used 2 lights, one standard white light and a red light. Textures: The texture on the character was a mat that I got under the Free Stuff section as well. I guess I had to make a note of all the props and textures that I used in this scene. Your other questions answered: 1) I really don't know what's in the containers, could be ready to fill up with some strange liquid or something. 2) As the title says, "...Escape", she just got unplugged. Any suggestions on how I can get the textures on the character to look more realistic? Thanks, V
The out of focus plugs threw me too. There's one or two that are not. Which would lead me to think it might be on purpose. I think she was plugged in, but she's ready to bounce now, call the girls, get her gear correct and go clubbin'. It's very complex scene. Tell us more about this place and the containers. Are they filled with nelly's "Pimp Juice"? For someone with a lot of plugs coming out of her head, she seems to have a little pep in her swagger.
Hi V., Yes...try this as an experiment and philosophic point of view: use only white lights. Do not attempt to get color on the skin thru lights. [Later, if there is intentionally a red light or a blue light in the room, for instance, that's a different story.] Now, you can have total control over the color tone of the skin in (at least) two ways. 1) the coloring intrinsic to the texture file itself. Another level of advancement, eventually, would be to learn how to open up the texture file itself and make an adjustment to the color tone in the 2D graphics software you are using. 2) More simple: go into the material room and change the color on the root of the shaders. There are four places to affect color...diffuse_color, ambient_color, translucent_color and specular_color. Each impacts the color of objects in different ways. To make a change, just click/hold on one of the four boxes...you will get a color picker. Experiment. Note: be sure the object you want to impact is selected! A lot of the realism in skin comes from the texture itself, any bump mat attached (provides depth and shadow of skin features) and more complex manipulation of shaders. This is always combined with lighting, naturally. Something I was taught: go in close with a camera and get the skin the way you want it...even though you may be making a long shot and you might think detail has no effect...it does. ::::: Opera :::::

My aspiration: to make a decent Poser Render I'm an Oldie, a goldie, but not a miracle worker :-)
I'm also a neebie to Poser, it could be just that I understand 3D from my 3D Studio Max and Maya background. I've been working with 3D Studio Max since version 2 and so much has changed in the 3D industry. So many options and so many packages. I think Poser is a good place to start, but if you want to get deeper into 3D, I would suggest trying one of these products.
