No clue, but for the heck of it try putting the dot from the first column back to next to the diffusion. Just a guess.

pogmahone ( ) posted Tue, 18 January 2005 at 1:47 PM

Have you tried removing the ambient, diffusion and metallicity dots from where you have them at the moment?

Jaymonjay ( ) posted Tue, 18 January 2005 at 1:49 PM

Try 'Object Cubic' mapping, rather than 'Parametric'.

PS, forgot to post the image....and, like Jaymonjay says, Object Cubic would be better than Parametric

Yup, Object Cubic did the trick. I don't know why it would make a difference, but apparently it does. Thanks Jay, Pog.

could be that the model has no UV mapping, which is what the parametric mode needs for all imported meshs. Otherwise the import gets painted a solid color, I think the top left pixel color in the image file.

Yep, dan whiteside is correct. Glad you figured it out, Bandolin. :)

Also, having the dots in the valu section over-rides the actual level numbers. So, with the dot in Difffusion, the number value means nothing, and is based off of the Alpha.

Claymor ( ) posted Wed, 19 January 2005 at 11:13 PM

I have found that parametric NEVER works for stuff modeled in Wings/ I always go object cubic

lordstormdragon ( ) posted Thu, 20 January 2005 at 3:29 AM

If parametric doesn't work, then the UV maps aren't right... But, in this case, there is no UV mapping. When you move on to multiple textures within a single model, you will use UV mapping, but for now, looks like it's all safe?
