i have a poser figure but dont have an geom or obj file i need to make a template to texture it i have uv maper how can you export it and keep it poseable after sending it to uv mapper thank you in advance

What figure is this? If the figure has UVs you can make a template from the exported OBJ and it will be the same as the one in Poser. If you are remapping the OBJ, that's a different story. Which is it? -JH.

this may sound retarded but i make most of my models and some times i use parts of other models mixed i have abou23 gigs of stuff ive made so its hard to say if i find a host site ill post them here i usually save them as pz3 files after i import tnem

Most likely what you have is a morphed version of the Regular Poser4 man. That figure's template will work. The muscle man won't work unless you have the OBJ file to go with it.

Travis, if the model is one that came with Poser, it will be on the CD's. There should also be templates as well (I believe those are on the second CD. The one marked "content").

I'm wondering if he either got one of the morph sets for the Muscle Man (can't use without the figure, purchasable from Zygote), or maybe the Physique model (IIRC, uses the P4 Nude Man)?

For the template can't you just export the model as an object and then pull that object into uv mapper to make the new template? Also, I have lost stuff on my system, I have two 40 gig drives and a 30 gig backup drive, as well as my pull outs, so I have lost stuff too. If you can get the original name you can do a search for the original downloaded file, I've done that and found stuff too. Old Woman...No Coffee...Can You Tell? lol Marque

Er, I may be talking out of ignorance, but if you can actually open the figure in poser then the geometry must be there somewhere.

pdblake is right. If you have the figure, and want to make an object to map in UVMapper, just export it as an object, and you will have a mappable object file. If, however, the figure can't be open, you don't have the figure, just the cr2 or whatever. Hmm....this doesn't make sense. How can a figure open in Poser without an object? I mean, it's written into the cr2 that it needs an object to reference. scratches her head Hmm......
