Subject: 3DS to Poser?

Hi there, recently I downloaded an object in 3ds format. I can get it to poser, export as obj ext. However no matter what I do I cannot get it to texture? Is there something I am missing or that I should be doing other than the basic load and save I have done? Any help will be appreciated. :) Oh yeah I use PP.

3DS textures don't always work. Usually you can get better control of the textures by exporting the item as OBJ, checking the "include existing groups in polygon groups" box. Had you tried that already?

You can use PoseRay to convert the 3DS model to OBJ first. It will keep the texture coordinates intact.

See the tutorial in PoseRay's manual.

On the off chance that you're importing a 3ds object that has no texture, you might need to use UVMapper to give it texture coordinates
